So... I liked how this season ended. A lot of the different timelines were pretty goddamn cool...
But fuck Starlight is OP as fuck like what the hell dude. Twilight is Princess of Friendship and Element of Magic and Starlight ganks her almost every time. The redemption seemed a tad bit rushed but whatever, I can overlook it. It's catered more to the younger crowd after all.
Discuss.
From the looks of it, Starlight is equal in power to Unicorn Twilight, which is believable. Her advantage was that, in the time since the premiere, she's studied combat magic, one area of study Twilight's ignored. That was her advantage.
It's like being surprised when a 100 pound black belt kicks the ass of a 300 pound pure-muscle street thug. Skill trumps power. Of course, Twilight was able to instantly duplicate Starlight's combat spells, so I can see why she hasn't studied it.
Of course, in this case it's more a black belt beating a red belt, but you still get the idea. Starlight had just trained herself specifically for the possibility of fighting Twilight.
Eeyup.
She needs a spanking...
But seriously, she kinda needed to go to the naughty box in Banishmenttown... She had no reason to cause so much trouble over falling out of touch with a friend just because he went off to school Xb I mean, I highly doubt her parents would have denied her writing letters to him
I thought it was fantastic, and I did like that Starlight served as a strong wakeup call to twilight who'd grown too complacent. She also shows how badly a grudge can twist your views and shows the value of planning everything out beforehand.
The wrapup was indeed sudden, but it's all right since they did address it and intend to have her "study under Twilight" to learn about everything she missed.
it was also awesome seeing how Sombra would have messed everything up had he not been killed right away.
I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!
I just watched it on YouTube
Yeah, I enjoyed the alt-futures... (though Flim and Flam and apparently threats to all of Equestria... and I wonder if the desolate wasteland of a future was the one where Starlight 'conquered' the world...)
Also she was boosted by the map magic
Hah yeah, I found it weird too how Starlight was able to overcome Twilight almost every single time, even though Twi is an alicorn and ex-weilder of the element of MAGIC. Caps intended.
Also her reasoning for becoming a villain was really weak. I mean, I get it how kids can be so easily affected, but still... Couldn't she just have written to her friend after he was shipped off to Canterlot? I'm sure he'd have loved to hear from her.
Episode itself was great, alternate timelines were fun, but Starlight herself was just... I dunno. Meh
Fallout equestria is now canon
My impressions about Starlight's redemption:
