[Colors of the Heart] Seasons 4 & 5 Canon and the Colors Home Stretch. · 12:42am Oct 22nd, 2015
Colors of the Heart has been laying on the shelf for some time now. Not for any particular reason other than simply a lack of motivation to write it.
However I am glad to announce that that has finally changed.
The other day I decided to catch up to the current airing of the show. (Due to some hinting of some particularly juicy bits I had to see.) Which I haven't watched since the early bit of season 4. So I had a lot of catching up to do. However the more I watched, the more I remembered why it was that I enjoyed the show that I hadn't watched in such a long time. Looking back, I wish I would have watched these sooner, as I really enjoyed them. Not just that though, but I found season 5 to be so enjoyable, and so inspirational, that I am now inspired and driven to finish colors of the heart.
The episode Made in Manehattan is directly to blame for that honestly. That and so much new canon to play with. 
Truth be told, I was in the air as to the stories ending. I was teetering between one of three possible ways of wrapping it up, but I just couldn't decide which to go with; as they all would have worked great in their own ways. However with all this new canon knowledge, I've tossed out all three and built a 4th option, one that I love and am honestly glad I waited for. While also wishing I had caught up sooner.
Seasons 4 and 5 had actually made a number of things i had planned or wanted to do either already within canon, or easily tied into canon. This was really exciting to find out.
With that said, I am on my way with the writing for the conclusion of Colors of the Heart. 
All of this has also given me a lot of inspiration and ideas to tie into the plans of Researcher Twilight, while still maintaining the direction that it was already headed, too. So all around, good news!

Season five has actually been brilliant as a whole so far. I'd say the opener and eps 12–18 are the highlights. Such a heavenly mid-season.

Yeah. I had a massive fan-girl moment watching the Slice of Life episode with all the background ponies.
Then we have Crusaders of the Lost Mark episode that actually brought me to tears twice. Watching my absolute least favorite character in the show grow into one of my favorites was actually really sad once we saw why she is the way she is, and what she really felt. Then the CMC thing, too.
I'm such a softy when it comes to that sort of stuff.
