So, today's episode...
I loved it. Pinkie Pie's zany antics as she struggled not to spill the beans brought a smile to my face, and I absolutely loved the gag near the end. Until this episode I never realized how well Shining Armor and Pinkie Pie could play off each other. Never change, you delightful pink party pony.
More importantly: FINALLY! I've been waiting three years and and/or three seasons for this! My favorite horse couple is finally having a baby! I wish they'd given us more details, but personally I think it's most likely to be an alicorn filly. Though if Hasbro uses this chance to finally give us a male alicorn, that would be stupendous. My preferred option by far.
The only negative I could think of is l, well, that I know this fandom. Mark my words, pretty soon we'll see a parade of stupid "Shining isn't the real father" fanfics. Just 'cause. In fact, if there isn't a "Chrysalis is (somehow) the real father" up on the site by month's end, I'll eat my hat. And yours too.
There's already been a few fics like that... one I remember somewhat vividly involved Cadence in a threesome with Shining and Chryssi.... and pregnant, with Chryssi's pony/changeling hybrid.
