It's going to be Rarity month for me.
This month, ER250 is going to be completed. I have Chapter 15 done, and Chapter 16 is being seen by Razalon The Lizardman when work allows him. The epilogue is being written, just a small thing to prep for the sequel, which will come out in January. The epilogue will be seen by Autumnschild this weekend and should luck prevail, I will release chapter 15 next week.
I'm holding these up because of two reasons. First, I hate that month plus gap between most of ER250's updates. I want to avoid that. I know life gets in the way, with the year I've had, I know. But I want to work to avoid that, which is part of the reason the sequel is going to be in January. I've been writing it and storing chapters to allow more regular updates.
Second, it's really important to me that the information in 15 and 16 to be presented closely to each other, and that the information is presented as logically and clear as possible. They are the heavy chapters. They are chapters people have been waiting for. I'm also really nervous about that as well. These will be how I want them to go, and I hope they entertain as well.
In some other news, I am looking into writing a new story. Either a shipping story, or I got a really fun adventure story with The Great and Powerful Trixie. There was something else too, but I can't remember. I got several stories I need to sit down and edit too.

I'm going to guess either Rarity's 251st or Twilight's 250th (and supposing that Twilight is just a little younger than Rarity).
Good things are worth waiting for... but damn, it's been torture here. But if both chapters are being released together then that would be a treat.

Well, if you can't make up your mind, you could always try to do both in one story. It's trickier but I've seen it done.

Oh totally. There comes this part in the story where literally anything could happen and the idea of a romantic pursuit is one of those possibilities. The tricky part about the story is that I'm taking Trixie, breaking her character, and hopefully reassemble her into something that makes sense. She not a traveling magician for long.
If I can just make that make sense, then I could totally do some shipping after.

You'd be correct in the age. In ER250, Twilight is about 247 or 248 years old. We did the math a while ago, and I struggle to remember it exactly. But the way we did it, AJ and Rarity were the oldest of the mane 6, and Twilight was the youngest. I can't quite remember how RD, Pinkie, and Flutters fit on the scale.
As for the title, ER251 is possible. The setting is either going to be a few weeks after the conclusion of ER250 or roughly a year later.

Well, the nice thing about picking Trixie, of all minor characters, is she already shows some heroic qualities. Even knowing she was lying about beating an Ursa Major, she'd rather try and fight one than run. It might be dumb, but it is the kind of thing you often see in adventure protagonists.
