I am very surprised at how my newest story just blew up with all the comments. When I woke up this morning, and checked Fimfiction while eating breakfast, I gaped at the amount of notifications I had, which was in the hundreds. I've never seen it that high before.
Now, I'm glad that all of you are enjoying my fanfic, but I'd like to talk about a few things, regarding the story. Now, I fixed up a few things people mentioned, like his 'Minecraftian' powers in making glass vials from a furnace he made himself, so I replaced it with him finding the glass vials in an abandoned lab (it isn't really part of the story, so I don't mind mentioning who's lab it was.) It was Starswirl's hidden secret lab and John found it while exploring for supplies, and a place to camp out (before he found the cave he currently resides in). He didn't recognize the name of the famous wizard, and mostly focused on getting some supplies before the ancient building collapses. I'm not sure if I will touch on it, maybe John mentioning it to Twilight, and they go to explore it.
Also, I understand that some of you think that John is kinda OP (which he is, no doubt there), but also a gary stu. Well, I just wanted to say that I don't want him to be. I don't want him to be perfect. Heck, if I were to describe him as he is in the story currently, he looks like he's dressed like a hunter from Left 4 Dead, and he looks like he's incredibly sick. His skin is pale green, and he hasn't even taken a shower in a month. But you should also know that the more OP my character is, the more I like to punish him. If you look at some of my other fanfics, Connor (Cosmic King) has reality warping powers, but is severely depressed, hold thousands of tons of guilt on his conscience about the death of his daughter, has to deal with constant night terrors (every single night, so he just doesn't sleep anymore) and a whole bunch of weaknesses. Sam (Metroid, Displaced), while not really OP, still has a huge amount of power, watched his parents be murdered, and feels guilty for the people he's failed to save. The Ginyu Force lost parts of their memories, and knows that they committed genocide. The Freddy Gang lost their humanity and emotions, and watched children be brutally murdered. So you can guarantee that John, the Plague Master, will have his own problems.
I appreciate all the comments telling me about how I can do better, and I will try. But I also don't do editors, because I'm kinda greedy, and don't usually work with others.

Wait. He hasn't even taken a shower in a month? why not make a bacteria or parasite or something to keep him clean. i know some bacteria can be use for soap. Also he can control it to "eat" most(if not all) the carp that's on him. Plus cant wait to see if he can make stuff form Resident evil or something with his power over virus' and all that. .
Tragic backstory no one cares about is not a relatable character flaw. The flaws are meant to be something that lets you feel sympathetic to character, thus having you invested in him. Feeling guilty of murder/being unable to save stuff is not that relatable IMO, and misses the point of having the flaw.
As for shower, there are freaking rivers and stuff. Just set up a fire, and wash your stuff, then dry it off.
