Tiny Excerpt Time: Alicorn Switcheroo(Vacation Edition) · 2:10am Sep 26th, 2015
Hello from sunny St. Augustine, Florida!
Amid the time spent with family and relaxing by the ocean and/or pool, I found a moment to work some more on Chapter 5 of Alicorn Switcheroo. I've honestly had time to work on it and others, but I've been taking as much time to just relax as I can. I HAVE started on a thing related to the new EQG movie that premiers tomorrow, but who knows when that might be done. However, I have also worked on a few of my fics and AS was top of the list.
Here is a short, unedited excerpt:
“Well...who wouldn’t?” Twilight shrugged, confusion playing across her face. “You’re so important. You deserve to be protected at all costs.”
“Not everypony shares that outlook.” Celestia glanced down at herself, her smile taking on a touch of melancholy ruefulness. “Normally, I am far from defenseless. I’ve not been bested in many centuries, Twilight. It’s the classic conundrum of why I even keep guards, let alone need any sort of protection.”
“You keep guards because you are a single pony, for all your power, and cannot be everywhere or listen to every problem a pony has. It takes a team of dedicated equines to run a castle, let alone a nation. The common ponies should feel safe and secure, no matter if you are near or far.”
Twilight recited the answer to the guard conundrum by rote. It was technically a paraphrasing of a quote of Celestia’s from four centuries early when asked about her habit of employing able bodied ponies to don the Gold and Silver Armors.
Celestia shook her head, chuckling under her breath. “Maybe I said something like that, but I mean really standing up for me. You just stared a god in the eye, Twilight, and told him off for speaking down to me. That’s special.”
“Well...I st-still think anypony w-would do it.” Twilight swallowed raggedly, her nerves returning in full force. She smiled lopsidedly at Celestia, feeling like a foal again, and lowered her head until her chin was near the bedroom floor to look up at the Princess. It resettled her, stabilized her, and made the world at least feel a bit more like it should. “I will always defend you. I swear that, Princess.”
Celestia nodded, her chin barely bobbing. “I know, Twilight. I know you will, though you don't have to. But I won't stop you either. Right now...” She lifted her hoof, cupping Twilight chin until their eyes met. “...we need to set all our wrongs right, together. The sun may be up and moving once more, but now to the next immediate issue: your friend Pinkie's health.”
According to Open Office, Chapter 5 is sitting just under 3K words. Originally I was planning on working it out to about 10K total, but now I'm starting to suspect it's going to go past that, though I'm not sure how much.
Stay classy

Motherfucker, you'd better make your way over to Tampa or I'm gonna have to smack a bitch.

See, there is a failure in your logic. If I came to Tampa, then you could slap a bitch. But if I don't...you can't slap a bitch, unless that bitch was some other bitch than myself.
3420291 Bitch, my slaps transcend time and space!
3420297
And my Resting Bitch Face(tm) is an Immovable Object. We're gonna have a problem here.
3420305 Indeed. We seem to be at an impasse.
Do you really want it on your conscience that your lack of presence in Tampa caused ZOMG to slap an innocent bitch? Also, the failure of your logic is that if you do arrive in Tampa, no bitches will get slapped at all.
3420320
Maybe you could compromise and settle on a third auxiliary bitch that could travel between your two locations.
I liked the snippet!
3420624 hmm, I like this plan. It means that I still get to be lazy.
Ah good to know there's more of this on the way.
