Well, following the whole 'Bronycon is on the same weekend as CTCon and we can't do both' fiasco, the wife and I instead decided that we'd go to New York Ponycon again in February. (We went last year, so this will be our second Ponycon).
Since it's our policy to never hit the same con with the same cosplay, we're whipping up a new set to replace Steampunk Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich. Under pain of sleeping on the couch, I'm not allowed to actually say who/what we're going as, but Mel was so excited about one aspect of my costume that she agreed that I could post a picture of one of the components and make it into a guessing game.
SO, if anyone can correctly guess who/what I'm going to be cosplaying as at Ponycon 2016 based only on the image below, I'll... uh, be your friend forever, or something.
Ya can do better'n that. 'Sides, nobody wants to be yer friend anyway.

Definite points for participating, but unfortunately I'm restrained from giving any additional hints unless the wife lets me. Unless someone hits the nail on the head, I won't be indicating if their answers are 'close' or not,

Believe me, I ask myself that question every single day. She was actually the one to make the first move on me back in college, and I honestly have no idea where I'd be in life right now if it weren't for her,
She was the one who took the first steps into the FiM fandom as well, and I followed along with her... now she gets all her pony news through me,
