I have been umming and humming whether or not I would get the update for Utter in today or Saturday and I can say for sure, probably not.

Updating in general I mean.

In between resisting my darker urges to rewrite Utter into a big fic, I've been directing my energy into one-shots. You've seen Popping Her Cherry. To keep myself from jumping the shark, I needed those one-shots and suddenly my production levels have gotten jammed. Sure, I've been writing Pony X Human for a bit but I wanted to get back into the realm of actual pony fics. And I also wanted to top myself on the Royalty X Human front.

So a one-shot for that and a one-shot for this.

Girl Meets Girls is suffering from the classic FIRST SENTENCE SYNDROME that Three Dirty Words has. Basically, I wrote this one sentence that was too good and it fucks up the rest of the story (in my eyes) because I can't write (anything) better. It was to be my feel-good fic, a homage to one of the greatest fics (not in this fandom) that I loved.

Genuine is inflicted with TRY TOO HARD-ities where I came up with all this backstory, optional events and characterization that might be more suited for an original story. I'm cutting things out and patching other parts in but I don't want to make another Human Husbandry or a Stupor. Not again.

These two were my distraction fics to keep myself from mangling Utter and with them failing to do their jobs, I don't trust the rough drafts I have any more.

It wouldn't be hard for me to rewrite the first chapter of Utter and extend everything to allow for two (totally) necessary chapters to be placed neatly between When Water Withers and On Only One Ounce. Maybe take some foreshadowing out and add in some side-characters to flesh out Mark's motivation since I've implied that he's a violent-

See, I can't be trusted! Not at all.

I'm going to try and wrestle these fics into order and see what I can do for Utter. Just don't expect any updates any time soon. Maybe.
