Today, our dog Giant died. Also, stock market crashed since Monday, and I was there. · 12:19pm Aug 25th, 2015
TWO-PART BLOG POST. LET'S SEE IF ANYONE CAN UNDERSTAND THE SECOND PART.
I.
He was getting old.
It was his time, but my gosh it was not a peaceful death. He suffered from age-related malfunctions of his body, and had to go through a painful time before he went.
At least it's over now.
Now, I feel a bit more vulnerable than usual. We don't have a guard dog that can rip burglars or similar criminals apart. The two dogs that are left, Bella and Tony, are NOT guard dogs.
Tony is...just plain weird.
Bella, though scary like Giant, is a welcoming committee.
Ugh.
II.
In other news, I was online in the market (PSE, Philippine Stock Exchange) since Monday (yesterday, Aug24), the day of the stock market crash. Aug24,2015 is officially called Black Monday in stock market history. I could not fund my stock account as it was Kadayawan, a city-wide holiday, and banks were closed. But it wasn't a national holiday so the PSE was open, so I had to be logged in.
First time I experienced the Exchange itself halting all trading activities, but resumed soon after.
Tried to get more SSI shares by posting an ATC buy order, but GRRR!!! it was not executed. It must have run out of SSI shares at the closing price.
It's going to be the third day of the crash tomorrow. I hope and pray that prices will still go down because I gotta get in some blue chips that I don't have positions in yet, before the prices start to go up again. Whenever that is. We are advised to do cost-averaging instead of timing the bottoming out of prices, over the next 6 months.
SM made some crazy loss and even crazier gains today despite trading being halted by the Exchange yet again, resuming only when there was only 30mins left 'till market close.
If SM goes down, which I hope it will, then I will also get some SM. I also hope to get AC and ALI, and maybe some more TEL. I could not get myself to buy today as I could not decide. Time pressure, will it still go down? MACD reads are still weak (If only MACDs are not always late by nature.), but some stocks have RSI's that are bouncing back up. But not by much though. Still, some prices are not as low as yesterday...so many unknowns...emotions! EMOTIONS! Arg! As Twilight said, "I CAN'T DECIDE!"
I wonder if it will halt trading again tomorrow.
