Coz had begun to get very stuck up and superior living in Canterlot for most of her life. Her parents had gotten worried that she was getting spoiled, but thanks to the wisdom of her Aunt Twilight she's being sent to a certain town to learn the value of friendship. A little summer job to help her build some character.

Tribe: Earth Pony
Beat has always been a little bit of a slacker. He's spent most of his life trying to get a band off the ground with little success, but he's hardly a disappointment to his parents, and he's always fiercely protected his little sister from bullies and the like. And now there's a new girl in town. Interesting...
Pumpkin Cake
Tribe: Unicorn
Flighty, happy, and a bit bubbleheaded, Pumpkin had always been close to her Aunt Pinkie, and her brother Pound. Always the one to be humming a tune at work, Pumpkin knows that her calling is singing. She's always been told to welcome new friends! So come in, Coz! The muffins are fresh!
Pound Cake
Tribe: Pegasus
If you were to ask Pound what his job was he'd say "I'm a Carpenter." The actual answer is that he keeps his sister alive, and Beat out of jail. A holy flying terror as a baby, now a mostly quiet laid back craftsman as a stallion. Not one to raise voice, not one to start a fight, Pound is one of the more pleasant Ponies to meet in Ponyville. That is, unless you start trouble, then he'll live up to his name. As for the new girl? Welcome! As long as you don't cross the line, there won't be a problem.
Leon
Tribe: Griffon
Leon Griffith the Sarcastic Griffon, as his flight camp called him. Leon was always ready with an eye-roll whenever any pony said anything stupid. This happened all the time, and I do mean ALL THE DAMN TIME. As sardonic as he was he isn't ANTISOCIAL... exactly. He'll always help if you need the help, he doesn't think anyone isn't worth his time... But he's going to rib you as he's helping you. Just on principle, nothing personal. He'll even help the new... Alicorn... In town. Joy.
Appleseed
Tribe: Earth Pony
Growing up in Manehattan she dreamed of the country life! She has always wanted the crisp country air, the wide open sky, GREEEEEN ACRES IS THE PLA-- *Ahem* anyway... Her sister Babs told her to go work on their cousin's Apple Orchard in Ponyville. She left the salon and she's been a true farmhand ever since. And now with this new girl? Cousin Apple Bloom says to treat every pony like family until they prove otherwise. SOUPS ON, EVERYPONY!!

Hmmm......I would substitute an earth pony for some other series entirely. Maybe diamond dog. I dunno. Also, it seems pound takes after Big Mac. Maybe you can elaborate on that in the story? Rest is ok. Need to 'see' their personalities though in order to get a better feel.
On a side note, does Scratch come from the Saber tooth squirrel from the Ice Age series?

Minor question: Why would Cosmo (Fairly Oddparents for the win!) live in Canterlot? If she's Shining Armor and Cadence's daughter, wouldn't she be from the Crystal Empire? Or is it some kind of boarding school/living with grandparents deal?
The remainder of the characters seem kind of... geared differently. Down Beat, Leon, and Pound Cake seem to be a bit too similar sounding for my tastes. Slacker/rocker who fights bullies, snarker who always helps, and Big Macintosh 2.0 who always helps. I know they'll probably have different personalities, but from this short sneak peek, they feel similar. I don't know, it's probably just me.
