So I believe Pound and Pumpkin Tales will be coming to an end soon. · 7:44pm Aug 18th, 2015
This is still undecided, but I feel like I've about reached my potential for the story, and it might be time to wrap it up. It's not ending immediately. I still have like six chapter idea's in mind, but I'm at a sticky point.
When Charlie13 came to me and asked if she could do an audio reading of the story it was such a compliment that it brought me back to this story after about a year. I've been thinking more seriously about their characters and what to do with them, and I basically decided it all.
The problem comes from a certain chapter. I've established the WHAT of their characters. What makes them tick, and what makes them THEM. The second to last chapter finally brings to light the WHY of their character, of why Pound and Pumpkin are so attached to one another, why Pound is so overprotective of Pumpkin, why Pumpkin always just goes along with his plans, etc. When it's brought out into the open what their issue is their parents change to help them fix that problem.
What they've done so far has recognizable attributes that correspond to them and play off of previous chapters. Once the issue is resolved it feels like happy ending time, as their characters would have to change significantly for the better At that point it's like "Where do I go from there?" It's one thing to shift an attribute(for example in the next chapter Pound learns that fighting others isn't the best way of protecting Pumpkin), but to change it entirely means entering new waters and it feels like they'll lose what makes them flawed, endearing characters, and I'd have to find an entirely different way of writing them. 
So while it's still tentative I think these last batch of chapters will be the end of the series. Changing it from just random, self-contained stories to actually being sorta plot related, with each new chapter mainly playing off the next also makes me suddenly have a desire for the story to GO somewhere, and thus END somewhere.
For the curious the last chapter will be called "The Cake family" and it will end with something very special happening to the two of them. That is all.

Aw...maybe you should try to do a sequel, like the duo all grown up...
Maybe if its ideas you're having trouble with maybe try to str\udy twins and see if it helps. If not I will always consider these stories some of the best on FIM..
Sorry to hear that ... I understand why, but I'm more than a little bummed out.
Edit: Have you given thought to collaborating with someone else and/or guest chapters?
3330514 Well, as I said it's not so abrupt. There's still a number of chapters to go before we get to that point. And hey, if new idea's come before we get to that point the end point may be delayed even more. The final two chapters are set though.
