So I stayed up until 5 in the morning last night playing Shadow of Chernobyl. This semester's been too dry.
I wanted to tell you a little about my adventures.
I used a Viper 5 to take out 5 Military faction dudes who hold the pass in Cordon, the beginning area, which was interesting because I was both outgunned and outmanned; they were using AK-74s.
I'm currently up to over 140,000 rubles. I just cleared out the area with the scientist and the downed chopper. You're supposed to escort him out of the area alive, but there was no way I was going to reach him alive in a leather jacket. All the mercs in the area were using TR rifles, which are better than a lot of the guns I'm using.
I also discovered that, even under my mod settings, the unique weapons and armor still will degrade. My Fast-shooting AK was starting to jam fairly quickly, so I switched back to slower-shooting ones in better condition. I have to proceed a little more slowly, I noticed, because enemies don't go down as quickly. I have a setting to allow weapons and armor to be repaired by certain traders, but I am not far enough in the game to meet any of them yet, sadly.
I've run through almost all of my stocked up leather jackets. In the meantime, I've found one Freedom uniform, another STALKER suit, and an Ecologist suit, which are all much better armor. I'm saving them. After all, I still have one leather jacket left and three bandit jackets I need to get use out of. The stalker suit, even if it degrades at the same rate as the leather jacket, I should still be able to keep for longer because the condition will be about the level of the leather jacket at 20% condition.
I also have a lot of stocked up food and healing supplies, so I don't even fully need the upgrade in armor, except for the radiation resistance. I have a number of artifacts that improve how fast I recover from exposure, but I would not feel comfortable at all getting into a firefight in the midst of radiation.
I also destroyed the entire Military faction's base near the starting area in Cordon, the area where there's a speaker saying "We're protecting you from the Zone, not the Zone from you," etc. Well, I thought I'd see if I could take down three guys who patrol the road out in front of the base, but once I fired on the three, more just kept coming.
I took down five but was pushed back to the little village of Loners at the starting area. It was a massacre. Almost all the Loners died. I did most of the work, but we killed all of those Military dudes, and I went to their base to take down the guy who mans the speaker. He wasn't any stronger than the rest, and I got some medical supplies and food out of the base, which was nice. Unfortunately, it did deplete my ammo more than the downed guys could replenish.

I didn’t do all that last night, but the massacre, yes. I had a hard time finding the one guy’s family rifle. It was a nice shotgun. I wanted to keep it, but I didn’t. I already have so many guns in nice condition I want to get use out of. The TR and IL definitely improve my range of lethality. I also picked up some scopes from that one area west of the bar that help improve my effective range with the AK. I’m transitioning to the TR and IL, although the ammo’s more expensive. I’m a cheapscate, though, so I’ll keep using the AKs Viper 5s as long as I have ammo for them.

I’ve had a debilitatingly hard last few months. I’m questioning if life is worth living anymore since all I feel is neurologic pain and it’s getting worse again, I’m worthless as a result I’m really losing hope about whether I’ll ever be healthy again.
I’m sorry to be so whiny I just really feel like hell. I should just leave Fimfiction and lay on the floor all day like I did in November.

Yes my parents and doctor know all too well. That's why I'm getting another round of electro-convulsive therapy which is reserved for some pretty hardcore brain issues which I think I qualify as having recently. I've gone through many other forms of treatment for anxiety/depression in the past which didn't really do anything. I've reached out for help many times in the past... that's why I'm starting to feel increasingly hopeless as I've never really been helped much.
But I more or less want to commit suicide as I don't think I can really be helped, at least not permanently. I'm just too scared to actually do it.
I'm sorry Daniel. I think I might leave Fimfiction for a while since I don't really have much in the way of good things to say. You don't deserve this and I'm sure nobody here wants someone like me around even if it does help a bit with my extreme loneliness...

I'm sure other people like having you around, but I don't know how much you're talking with other people, as opposed to talking to me. When we say we're here for you, we're not doing it to save face.
