Please note these facts are part of my own head-canon, not the show's.
*In the story's universe, Aquastria is the home of the sea ponies, set in the sea between Equestria and the Griffon Empire. It is currently ruled by the Great Sea Lion, King Leo, who became king after the original royal sea pony family was wiped out. Leo and Celestia are friends but due to the sea ponies secluded natures, they haven't seen each other in centuries. Aquastria will be the setting of a future side-story
*Scorpan is still alive and currently a leader in the lands the pony tribes left behind all those years ago. It was no easy feat but he restored the lands to its former glory
*Although most dragons are ferocious hoarders of treasure, there exist some who are proud and dignified. Lots of them are relatively peaceful to other sentient creatures whereas a few treat all other life-forms as beneath them, viewing dragons to be the pinnacle of evolution. Currently, the dragons are ruled by a king, who is by far the biggest and strongest dragon in the land and prefers to maintain peace by other races by simply leaving each other alone. There are also oriental dragons (similar to those of Japanese/Chinese myths) who are more benevolent and much more magical, as they don't need wings to fly. These dragons took to some creatures, including ponies, teaching them their ways and sharing their secrets. From these oriental dragons descended a type of pony I intend to reveal eventually, the Qilins.
Would it be awesome if the king dragon was named Bahamut? You know just for fun.
