Chapter 17 of Basements of Doom is Up, some stats, and some lame excuses. · 12:27am Aug 4th, 2015
So, I've published chapter 17. No one has complained, so I guess you all got notifications. Also, two chapters in a row without seriously endangering Quiz's life - and this hasn't bored any of you. Hmmm. So... I don't need to begin the next chapter with an explosion? Oh, good, because I haven't given the Ambush Raiders anything combustible yet. I think I've done all the big reveals... except for the identity of Bowser's mysterious customer, oh, and what exactly has been calling "Ooogie, oogie oogie" all night.
This is the last chapter before Bronycon, and probably the last chapter for a while (I have to put in a bit of work to make sure everything is OK for my business partner before vacation, then vacation, then my partner get his turn at vacation). I also need to get my ChromeBook serviced (I should probably stop spilling coffee on the keyboard). But if this long break becomes a very, very long break I promise it's not another hiatus. I'm not doing that to you again. Chapter 18, "Villain's Monologue" is coming; if not in August, then in September.
Please enjoy chapter 17 (and let me know why an actionless headcannon dump entertained you so much).
With all the recent chapters you've been dishing out, I can say you certain deserve a vacation. xD
Have fun at Bronycon! Hope to see some cool pictures of the con. Take care and be safe!
As a reader, I'll keep my fingers cross for an August release for Chapter 18.
It is a long lost art, the art of suspense. I enjoy the slow chapters. They make it so I'm not constantly feeling worn out by ze actions. Some ponies might call the action pauses boring but, they are wrong, it's called pacing.
Oh, and enjoy the con.
Because your headcanons are so enormously entertaining!
Circular logic ftw!
Even if you aren't placing Quiz in mortal peril performing trapeze stunts over acid pits filled with flying, acid-spittintg piranhas (yet), it's good to have the story advance with some buildup.
I thought it interesting that Diamond actually gave the Sphinx the glare of death over that the threat of tossing Quizzy off the nearest cliff. Seems a bit protective of her, which is a nice potential twist for her character.
