Wow. You've made more world building progress than what I do for my other fic.
excellent, i'm glad to hear that a new chapter will be out soon. Believe it or not, i've never played destiny, so most of that is meaningless to me. That's a pretty deep level of world building though.
Have you considered getting Nimble Writer? Looks like you keep alot of notes for your stories, and Nimble Writer supports that.
Also...
New chapter!

Very good news, indeed! Can't wait to see what happens next.
Thanks for continuing to work so hard to make this story as good as it is!
3195893 I basically just tried to reimagine Equestrian locales as millennia-old ruins, and came up with names that archaeologists might give them if they had no idea what the original names were.
World building is surprisingly easy with proper application of perspective.
3195996 Most of the list is completely original and doesn't have anything to do with Destiny, actually. Only a few of the names are lifted from the game (The Divide, Valley of Kings, Endless Steps, etc.), but they were generic/vague enough that I could reuse them for completely different things.

Hmm haven't thought of it that way. I'll keep that in mind when coming up with names for new locations.
3196258 huh, looking at it in more detail (and after reading your response to chaotic) it's kind of obvious.
3196045 I like to use FreeMind, myself. Mind-mapping software of all kinds is useful and fun to work with if done right!
3196045 3201522 I usually don't use alternative writing software for writing or notes. I use OneNote to centralize notes across my entire life, and logically that extends to my writing notes as well. Word has all of my macros and tons of other tools that I use regularly, as well as support for editing in the cloud.
They also have dead-simple formatting options to help me make everything look pretty and easy to read.
3201985 Ah. I've never used OneNote, and I have a permanent grudge against Word because I've used better software (Word Perfect) at the same price for the same purpose (but the desktop monopoly won anyway). I don't write large lumps of text in FreeMind, but I've found it perfect for organizing related notes about stuff when I'm writing a longer piece (in Wordpad ). Not that I've written much in a few years, though.
3202004 I used to be into all the competing a la carte options (especially Scrivener), but as my life got busier I started to get sick of micromanaging all my software.
Around the time that Microsoft started being more forward-thinking and open as a company, I nabbed an Office 365 subscription that comes with all the Office software constantly kept up to date, along with a theoretically infinite amount of cloud storage, and robust collaboration features, all for a reasonable price. Haven't looked back since. The value proposition is so strong that it's hard for me to find a la carte options attractive at this point.
That, and I just feel like every alternative (that isn't Google Drive) has a UI that's stubbornly stuck in the 90's. Nor have I really ever enjoyed the idea of using a dozen different programs to do what could be done with two. Centralization and consistency have just made my life... easier. I can get things done without having to jump through a million hoops to do it.
Edit: Though I did check out FreeMind. Looks pretty neat.
