Taking Down Unraveling Tonight for the Reboot Eventually! · 12:49am Jun 25th, 2015

No, it's not cancelled, but it's not happy news either. I haven't worked on Unraveling since I got two writing jobs for both a start-up venture and a video game. At this point, it's been reworked to the point that not even the first chapters apply. The overall story arc is going the same direction, but it's getting there by a completely different means. Less verbose and complicated and hopefully a more enjoyable experience overall.

There's a few reasons why it went on hiatus in the first place, the biggest being discouraged by the lack of interest in getting help in editing the dang thing and the help I did have towards my last attempt turned out to be a good eye for catching mistakes and keeping me on my toes, but someone I felt I couldn't trust as I got to know them. I figured another contributing factor to folks not wanting to help with it might be it's simply not a good read as it is despite the love some of you have shown, and continue to show, when it gets the errant like and favorite despite its inactivity.

That kills me the most. Every time I see support for it, I feel guilty for not working on it. I don't want folks getting attached to the old version since its my fault I can't/haven't devoted the time to reworking it. I barely have time to work on pony fictions as it is and it haunts my nightmares that I am so inactive on the site! Just as a hierarchy of stuff I am focusing on that is writing. Currently this is my priority list:

1) Social Media and Content Writing for Start-up Company (Full-time writing)
2) Secret Video Game Project I am Under an NDA with (Part-time writing, hopefully full-time if certain NDA things happen)
3) TBA Collab Pony Comic with friend on DeviantArt
4) Undisclosed ____ x _____ Romance fic
5) The Trying Times of Ahuizotl
6) Unraveling a Rainbow

Of course, I'm of the mindset that no excuse is a good excuse so I can only say I'm sorry. Anyway, I want to take Unraveling a Rainbow from FiMFiction so I don't have you guys waiting for an update that may not be here for a LONG time. It's not fair to you guys to keep it in limbo with that tantalizing hiatus marker on it, so I am taking it down a few hours after this blog post goes up just in case the worst case scenario happens and I never finish it while MLP is still relevant. I am still going to finish it in some form as that and other fics are constantly on my mind. When I say constantly, I mean every time I hear certain songs or am driving somewhere or trying to go to sleep, they demand my attention to be finished, even moreso than what I actually get paid to do! I guess what I mean to say is, I am going to write it even if no one is around to read it when I get it done.

Sorry, but Unraveling is being raveled up for a bit until I can get other things out the door. For now, these next two months should be interesting if I get to share stuff on what I have been working on as I know there are a fair amount of video game lovers here. I know I'll be able to talk about it eventually though, and cannot wait to tell you guys about the game I'm working on when we get closer to a beta build. Expect some cool stuff once I can talk about it!

Edit: Just an FYI, don't read anything into this blog post from my last one. I'm not working with Playtonic games. Would be super-cool if I was though!

Sorry to not help but I'm busy with summer classes and my own story, otherwise I'd volunteer my meager services.

Sorry I never got back to you after I said I was busy roughly a year ago. I'm approaching graduation and, every time I thought my life couldn't get busier, it did. One-by-one, I've had to mothball so many projects and hobbies that I never dropped before that it's starting to feel like my entire life is on hold.
