Your detailed description is amazing.
I personally don't see this as a silly story right now, you'd need to do a few more loops to make her temporarily insane and go on another pranking run.
Once again, my opinion.

I reckon that it should move forward in plot, yes, but I wouldn't mind some silliness being thrown into the mix.
But I would definately like even a glimpse of the pony (or non-pony. No discrimination here) who did this to our darling little Sweetie Belle. The bastard.

More pranks. Sweetie finds out how many mosquitoes she can raise and turn loose in a week.
More productive works: Sweetie has a heart to heart with Rarity about what date rape is, then works her way through bar after bar testing to find out who would rape. She makes a list with details knowing that when the loops end, there will be a LOT of fresh pedophile convictions!
Serious chapter, then a silly one. The plot must move foward a little bit, then get blown up by the silliness all just to get sucked back on track of the main plot.
