I was going to talk about something important, but I forgot what it was... (I remember at the end, though.) · 9:07pm Jun 12th, 2015
...so instead, I have a message to everyone out there who has any relation to the Five Nights at Freddy's fandom. Whether you're in the fandom, you've a friend who's in the fandom, or even if you hate the fandom, this is something you should read.
First, let's take a look at where everything started. Where the new generation of creative horror gave rise to a king...
Note the title. "Scariest game in years." Wasn't it, though? At the time, everyone was terrified of this game. And this was the hype train that Scott Cawthon rode into this:
Whether it was more or less scary than the first game is, of course, up for debate. However, FNaF 2 brought with it not only a new challenge, but also an expansion of the lore surrounding FNaF. It wasn't about the cheap jumpscares (yes, I said that) anymore. A story was starting to be told. A story that guided us right on into the next chapter:
Now, I'm going to be completely honest. I'm rather a fan of Five Nights at Freddy's, but this... *shakes head* Lord Cawthon, I mean no disrespect, but if you were going for a scary game, you kinda failed. [DISRESPECT INTENSIFIES] I mean, like FNaF 2, 3 was completely different from its predecessor. New mechanics, an expansion of the story, and even a way to finally help the children who were murdered all those years ago. But... I think the hype train is starting to run out of steam. We've crashed into Hype Lake and now we're starting to drown. At first glance, our only saving grace may be that FNaF 4 is confirmed to be, quote, "The Final Chapter," end quote.
I just wanted to address that the FNaF fandom is starting to go downhill. Haters aren't getting hate-y-er, our game is just getting... worse. And we refuse to acknowledge that, thus causing us to sink further.
So, to recap, the series started as the "scariest game in years," and continued to be that way in the second installment, began to go downhill at 3 despite the closure it offered, and is now teetering on the brink of destruction, its only hope being how the series is closed in FNaF 4. (So far, I think we'll be ok.)
So yeah, I just wanted to get all of that off my chest. Now, for the reason most of you have been notified of this blog post: the end of my hiatus.
For those of you who are unaware, on Sunday, Lucas will be available for purchase in Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U. Of course, I'm going to be getting him, seeing as I've made it my mission to git gud get good as every fighter on the roster, including the ones I have to buy. (Though truth be told, I have a friend who's a total Mother nerd, and will no doubt make anyone who faces his Lucas his bitch. I'll never be on that level.) That's not important, though. (Nor is the Mini Direct Nintendo is holding Sunday morning. Go look that up for yourself if you want.) What is important is that in one of my past blogs, I said that my hiatus would end once Lucas returned to Smash Bros. Granted, I thought he wouldn't be released until later this month at the time, but oh well. Better for you people.
Alright... I guess I'll see you all on Sunday. Bye for now.
