Top Five Reasons My Life As I Once Knew it is Over · 8:24pm Sep 3rd, 2016
Just so you know, this isn't going to be a sad, whiny, "first-world problems" blog. I'm just explaining how I'm now a far cry away from a high school student doing nothing but writing fanfiction in his free time. Anyway, on with the list...
Number 5: My computer's broken, but you all knew that already. However, there might be hope. My brother-in-law (who is a really cool guy and nice to my sister, which is everything you can ask for in an in-law) offered to have his dad look at it, and he might be able to get it back up and running at little to no charge! The main issue now is getting around to taking my computer there, since they live halfway across town...
Number 4: This morning, instead of watching the new episode of MLP, I instead watched the new episode of Miraculous Ladybug. (Oh, by the way, I've started watching Miraculous Ladybug. Real good show. Takes me back to the days of Code Lyoko when I was a kid.) I'm not going to say that's evidence of me leaving the MLP fandom, because that's never going to happen, but I have noticed that I'm gradually growing distant from here.... Ah, I'm sure it'll be fine in the long run. Besides, I decided to watch Miraculous instead because that's harder to catch On Demand later in the week than MLP is.
Number 3: I made Mistake X. Also, while trying to make this paragraph funny, I accidentally started watching a new YTP series. All that aside, I found a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X for about $40 a couple weeks ago, and in the 40-50 hours I've put into it so far, I've determined that it's the second-most fun a guy can have with his clothes on. (The #1 spot still going to writing a story of your own creason, especially if it's a videogame like with RPG Maker.) However, the user interface is SO HECKING TINY! I have to sit insanely close to the TV screen to read on-screen text, and there's a lot of it that isn't accompanied by voices. And the worst part? It's worse when I play on just the gamepad. I have to literally squint to read anything on there. Other than the tiny UI, though, I r8 88 outta 8.8, m8. No, for real, my score five chapters in is 8.9/10. Beautiful world, fun combat, personality, but still suffers from tiny UI and the white hipster version of Riki who I can't even play as. Moving right along...
Number 2: I'll be going into Air Force boot camp at the end of the month. I've even started doing an exercise regiment that I'm sticking to surprisingly well. (For the first week, at least.) Yeah, no jokes for this one. Not even a Starfox reference.
Number 1, and this one's a doozy: I've officially decided to quit FiMfiction.
I'm afraid that, after much lamenting, I've determined that continuing my fanfictions on this site is an unrealistic endeavor alongside all the other stuff I've got and will have going on. I sincerely apologize, but I promise to find ways to bring my stories to their conclusions, even if I have to ask fans of the stories to write their own endings. As stated a couple blogs ago, I will name official successors, including anyone who wishes to volunteer, but the identities of these successors remains to be seen...
And that's my list of reasons I'm so different from the person I was just four months ago. (Despite the fact that the first three reasons listed happened only within the last two months.) Yeah, I wanted to have a blog dedicated to my resignation, but I decided that would be too sad and gloomy, like that episode of Adam Ruins Everything where he ruined death. So... I guess that's that. I'll still be here to talk about stuff and things, but the stories have officially stopped coming. Sorry about that. I usually end my blogs with an "until next time," but I guess now, "until next time" doesn't hold much water. Well... I suppose you'll hear from me again. That sounds a little better...
.................
*cries forever*
Sorry to see you go buddy. Wish you the best of luck in the future.
