With 'Town of Ponyville' finished (a while back actually), I'm finally getting around to starting my next big story, and for the first time in a long time it's not a crossover *cue fanfare*.
For those who don't know, there is a pen and paper roleplaying game based on MLP called 'Roleplaying is Magic'. It's pretty awesome, the latest rule set being made for season 4 (I don't know if they're going to make one for season 5 or not, I think the ones behind it have stopped), I actually made my own adjustments to the season 4 rule set to comprise the best bits of the season 3 and season 4 rules, imaginatively dubbed 'season 3.5 rules'.
Anyway, a while back me and a few of my friends played a campaign using the season 3 rules, I was the GM and they played as their own characters. It was an absolutely bonkers game that we unfortunately didn't get very far in, my editor played a thinly veiled rip off of Fluffle Puff who had maxed out attack and defence skills and nothing else, and ate the corpses of ponies after he inevitably one hit killed them all. One of my proofreaders, created a much more realistic character, but he still ended up committing genocide completely by accident.
So how this ties into my new story is that I am going to write it based on the plans I had for that RPG campaign we played, using the mane 6 instead of OCs. It will be a long story, hence why I'm starting now at the start of my summer holidays, the first chapter is already written but I won't publish until I have a reasonable amount done.
I've written quite a few MLP stories now, more than I've published, some that I had published but then deleted. Throughout all these stories I've had the various members of the Mane 6 as the main character: Pinkie Pie in Bullet Point/Storm; Twilight in Town of Ponyville; Fluttershy in the Walking Dead crossover that I cancelled; and even Rainbow Dash and Applejack in stories that I either never finished or were never good enough to be published. But I've never written a story in which Rarity was the main character, well now that's going to change with this new story.
So that's what I'm working on, I haven't finalised the title and I don't know when I will be publishing the first chapter, but until then you can always read Town of Ponyville which is still being updated every few days.
Is it going to be a horror/suspense focused story like your previous ones?
