WARNING: SPOILERY BLOG POST OF SPOILED SPOILERS WITH SPOILERS ATTACHED TO THE BACK!
Looks like we get griffons tomorrow morning. And the return of GIlda.
Observation 1: Twilight said Griffonstone was in Equestria. HMMMMMM. That's interesting since it seemed like the griffon kingdom wasn't in Equestria. Could this strange artifact just be a one-off oddly situation in Equestria sort of thing? Or is Equestria more vast than we thought previously? Or is Equestria somehow also the name of a larger continent? Or even the world?
Observation 2: Pinkie and Dashie had their butt-phones ring, but no one else. So the map knows it has to be those two. I assume the reason being to solve their OWN friendship problem, namely patch up with GIlda. I wonder just how Gilda's character will be done this time, if there will be any more sincerity, or any changes in the past year. This is particularly interesting to me since I've been writing Gilda in my fanfic now, albeit the version of her that Dash envisions. Who knows, this episode may just give me a bit of insight to steer GIlda in a slightly different direction than my plans. It all depends on how I notice Dash and her interacting since my GIlda is, after all, just part of Dash's dream.
Observation 3: Twilight had a BIG book about griffons, and she seemed pretty interested in them. Just something to note. Perhaps Twilight in my story will be thrilled to have Griffons around? Who knows.
Observation 4: Dash seems less than excited. I wonder if she knows what's going to happen. I wonder if she's dreading seeing Gilda again. Maybe she doesn't want to face her after what happened last time. Maybe she feels, somehow, that by choosing her Ponyville friends, that she abandoned Gilda.
Anyway... GRIFFON HYPE!!!
If it was another pony I might feel this was telling, however for Twilight not so much, she is the Princess of Books after all and even has an undead library hanging from a room in her castle.
Also, world building hype.
I am hoping that Pinkie is the one that tries to bring Dash and Gilda back to being friends. That has always been a story idea of mine. Granted in mine it has always had an undertone of PinkieDash.
Selfishly I am hoping that there are some good Pinkie and Dash interactions as those two can be a lot of fun.
Having seen the episode. BEST EPISODE!!! and yeah, it was all about Gilda along with Pinkie and Dash.

I already have my little theories swirling around in my head, but needless to say, the griffons were QUITE different than the ones in my fic, so I don't know how much inspiration I'll necessarily take from it :P
3091096 Doesn't contradict it, though - griffons of Griffonstone were those particular gwiffons whose tradition was to be proud of gold. And it was the capitol, biggest town - it's known that merchants and business people like to live in the capitol, which can make their traditions diffewent from other places. And in other places of Griffon kingdom they would likely be more violent and they would perhaps wob them rather than ask for bits.
