Is having multiple projects going at the same time smart?

meh. I'll worry about that later. That's future Thunderhalk's problem.

I've begun to enter the planning phase of a story that's been rolling in my head ever since I first saw Equestria Girls. I've not read any fanfics based on those films (or Sunset Shimmer for that matter), so I don't know if it's been done before. The proper thing might be to look into that, but I won't.

I figure, if you got an idea: write it!

If you read another version first, it could warp what you originally intended for the story, or you run the chance of actually copying what that author did. Write what you want, finish it, and then worry about if it was done before when you are ready to upload it. The writing I feel is the most important. As someone who strives to improve as a writer, I try to write everything I can, whenever I can. My goal is to write something, anything, everyday.

It's how I surprised myself by completing Chapter 4 of Eyes of Stone in less than a day.
~3000 words in one day!
For me, that was an impressive milestone. I remember a time where it would take me three to four days to get that far. Not counting another day to read through what I had written.

As for if writing multiple works at the same time is smart?
I don't know. For me, every so often you just need a break.
I'm not taking one from Eyes of Stone.

I'm working on two projects at once. When I'm stuck on one, I'll work on the other. It'll be a better use of time, I think. Plus, it will allow me figure out scheduling and timetables so I can work on other stories in the future.

On the subject of timetables:
While I initially planned on one chapter a week, I now realize that I could potentially upload several. I think this was a one off thing, but whose to know?

I know what my schedule looks like for a normal week, so it is possible (until I get employed full time, again). However, I think I'll slowdown and take my time. Planning Trixie's role in Fluttershy's journey is going to be the tricky part. I want it to seem natural. Luna already appears to be thinking several steps ahead, so it makes sense that she has already accounted for her. She is even aware of... certain skills that she might possess that could help Fluttershy. Or at least believes she has something to contribute. What that is remains to be seen. She doesn't believe that Daring will need to give her much combat training, so she must already have the basics from somewhere.

The last time we saw her in the show, she was running off a (potentially) changed mare. I think she wants a chance to prove hersel and make amends for what she did to Ponyville.

~~~
Keep those creative juices flowing and
May Luna watch over your dreams as you slumber beneath the star filled sky.
