Sunset Shimmer never expected anyone to forgive her. Princess Twilight Sparkle was the first. She never expected anyone else. Five girls, whose friendship she destroyed, followed. It took her defeating the Sirens to get the rest of the student body to talk to her.

As she strives to make amends for all that she had done, there is really only one person who she wants to apologize to above all others. While she has said that she was sorry a hundred times over, there is still one person she has never told.

One pony she feels needs to hear it.

As a serpentine menace marches on Ponyville, an unseen Queen begins to plan her vengeance against the one that had imprisoned her centuries before; for only this accursed pony can stop her from claiming Equestria as her own and enslaving everything she deems to belong under her rule.

As the army continues its invasion and assault on her home and friends, Fluttershy, unable to reason with the slithering creatures known as "basilisks, flies to Canterlot and seeks out the aid of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. However, she comes to find that they have a more important task for her: one that will push her far beyond her known limits as she learns of her ancestry, and the burden of her forebears.

Behind Spitfire's office door, Soarin is rolling his "wings" in his hooves. The pin signifies his position as a member of the Wonderbolts, and he has to give it up.

While researching the properties of light, Twilight realizes that she might be able to unlock the secrets of invisibility. However, being invisible has its consequences. She will soon learn that losing the ability to see oneself is a great way to lose one's mind.
