I'm not as nervous as I was for one event, but this ranks up there. In a long time ago in this galaxy on this planet not too far away, I had a goal. My goal was to be a Geneticist. The dream was to earn a Masters in Chemistry with a doctorate in genetics. I failed. Now I aim to correct my failure, my mistake.
Long story short folks, I'm heading back to school along with others. After 8+ years of being out of it, I'm heading back to class to get a degree in Biotechnology. This ultimately means I'll have less time to work on my stories.
Here is the current schedule:
1. Full Bloom - I hate to admit this, but... I'm kinda getting writer's block on where to go with this story. I have the next chapter down, but I feel as though it's rushing things a little "too" much with the material that's revealed. From my perspective, it should be slowed down. On the other hand, the story shouldn't be dragged out to the point people lose interest. What should be emphasized is the fact Full Bloom "does" have an ending. The problem comes from my own sense, foolishly calling myself a writer at this point though I've only be writing for 3 to 4 years, where I want that ending to feel deserved.
As to how many more chapters are to come, I'll be looking at what the story needs and what it deserves vs. outright ending it after X amount of chapters. If the material is there, it will be written.
2. Diary of the Banished - The story has been updated with new chapters pushed out. At the moment, I feel disappointed. My disappointment comes from the story receiving so little views. I don't blame viewers. I blame myself. I'm not sure if its me personally, the story itself (concept, characters, etc.), or a combination of the two. Perhaps the story is pompous. Another possibility is the protagonist being a Gary Stu while ripping of Twilight Sparkle, except in stallion form, due to him being a powerful magical user. Unless I receive feedback to correct the mistakes, they'll remain prevalent. Proof-readers seem to be few and far between, so the story will have to rely on my ability to correct glaring grammatical errors and subtler errors, issues with the protagonist and characters, and other issues that keep it from reaching the front page of FimFic and making it through EQD's strict story standards. I spend as much time as allotted to correct the story, expand it, and refine it to the final product.
As to the story itself, there are 2 more chapters/stories. After that point, the story itself will reach the halfway point.
3. Equestria Daily Prompts - I'm rather selective about these prompts. The current one is on the table, but I might pass on it. This could be me being snotty, or picky depending upon how you view it, but I want a prompt to inspire me to think of a story vs. just writing some story to satisfy a set of parameters.
4. Closet Pony - An update is on the way. I've got the next release almost done, and I'll hopefully push it out here shortly. The story isn't dead.
That's pretty much it. I do thank those out there who've helped me out with my stories. Also, I do appreciate the kind words of encouragement people have given me in terms of my writing, ideas, and goal to go back to get my degree. Thanks fandom. You're a quirky group that helps me relax.
