And in the fourth leg of the Equestrian Tripple Crown... · 5:51pm Apr 25th, 2015
Huh…so Rainbow finally gets her own song and…now I want to shoot the guy who wrote it. She shoulda just stuck with Awesome as I Wanna Be.
As for the ponies, well…
The absolute worst pony in this episode should come as no surprise. I mean, that heartless bitch just stood there when everypony else was having an emotional moment and she just kind of went…meh. So, coming in last place is that so-called princess of friendship that just let the pony we all know she’s secretly in a lesbian relationship with (honestly, they can’t keep their hooves off each other even when everypony is around) Twilight Sparkle. Sorry girl, but A Song of Ice and Fire reference (that’s right I call Game of Thrones by it’s REAL name) can’t save your ass this time Twilight.
Rarity’s next up because…well…she just wasn’t around enough to make much of an impact and didn't really do anything except maybe brighten up the day of a few shippers. I mean come on, the unicorn could have at least made Tank something nice to sleep in. That and “I can’t stand to see Fluttershy cry?” REALLY? When Rainbow is going crazy with loss, it's Fluttershy who makes you cry? We know what the two of you do on your spa dates now.
Coming in third is…Fluttershy. Sure, the yellow pegasus is gentle to everything else on the fucking planet that doesn’t seem to be able to talk, but when it comes to her best friend, there’s no easing her into it, there’s no explanations of just why hibernating is good for Tank, there’s not even some kind of silver lining that she points out. Nope it’s just “your friend is going to leave you for several months (or die since that's kind of the obvious undertone of the episode) and there’s nothing you can do about it, SO SUCK IT BITCH”. If they come back the next day after Tank falls asleep and see RD has hung herself because the pain was too much to bear, it’ll be on your head Fluttershy!
Then there’s Applejack for crying on the inside.
And coming in Second…well…that’s a toughie.
On one hand ,we have Pinkie having her moments, walking through Dash’s wall (was that the 4th wall Pinkie?), the way she said party pooper, being the most empathetic friend to what is (probably) her best friend’s problem, and not saying "the word" made her one of the most entertaining ponies of this episode.
And then there’s Rainbow for…well…EVERYTHING she did in this episode, on top of adding a bit of depth to her character. I mean, after this she’s gone from ego whore, to someone who has some MAJOR abandonment issues and tries to show off to keep fans around in order to cope with the fear that all will eventually leave her (yeah okay there’s also the stages of grief metaphor but…that’s just a little too obvious and meta for ranking ponies unless its Pinkie). She tried to stop a fucking season to keep the thing that is always by her side by her side.
Oh who the hell am I kidding? The facial expressions, the range of emotions she displayed, all the slapstick comedy makes Rainbow Dash the winner by far. Even the crappy song couldn’t hold her back. RD wins.
Hello, I see you are a shipper, would you like to engage in some jolly shipping?
Nice blog, haven't watched the episode yet so I can't really say too much.
Why do you spell triple with two 'P's?

What Ship?
Everyone knows Rainbow and Twilight are a secret lesbian couple because their cross-tribal love is against Equestria's code of ethics and all the little hugs they give each other and extra little nudges during group hugs is just a sign of the hugely repressed sexual desire they can barely contain during daylight hours.

B-cause I wanted it rong! (Insert Discord emoticon here) Muhahahaha!

of course, I'm just saying we both see and ship characters, so let us engage in jolly shipping!

Mmm, I havta say Rainbow and Twilight aren't as much a ship as a major freight line. {Ba dum Tish}
Rainbow's probably also going to be glad that being a Bearer gives her partially immunity from the law. That is, I assume she has immunity, because while this season seems to be trying to address some somewhat more serious topics, "Rainbow Dash Goes to Prison" is probably still a little bit far. :)
Even with that, though, I'm, ah, thinking that perhaps she might not want to show her face in any bars frequented by the weather workers who had to work overtime to repair everything during the presumably time-critical winter onset.
Where are the pony points?

It's not against the Law of Ethics in Equestria. After all the Cake's are admittedly multi-tribal. Dashie's just horrible at expressing her emotions most of the time, and Twi is still socially stilted / retarded. But they do have their hooves on each other a lot. Of course Dashie was more so with Flutters until Discord moved in to live with her.
Honestly, I disagree with "I'll Fly" being a bad song.
I find it to EASILY be one of the best songs in the entire SERIES.
And if it wasn't for Crusaders of the Lost Mark existing, I'd say it WAS the best song.
And while "Awesome as I Wanna Be" is fun and enjoyable (and my second favorite song to come from the EQG movies), it's honestly too short, and that's INCLUDING the extended version.
So while I like both, I'd take "I'll Fly" over "Awesome as I Wanna Be" any day.
