I really did, I just want you guys to know that. Something I've learned in recent years though; just because you try your best, doesn't mean that you'll succeed. I'm sorry, I really am. I wanted to finish the story but I couldn't. Maybe one day I'll be able to do it, maybe. But until then, I Would Smile if I Could is officially cancelled. It's a sad day, and I would smile if I could. But I can't, not today.
It happens. Sometimes you have this idea, but you just don't seem to have this drive to complete it. There have been many times where I try to start up a story that I think would be awesome, but it ultimately comes up short and I just don't want to continue at the moment.
The only thing I can say is just put it on Hiatus if you still think you can keep it going in the future (near or distant), and return to it when you have the inspiration for it. Aside from that, maybe read other stories, watch more movies/tv shows/online videos, listen to some music (maybe some new songs to boot, or songs you haven't heard in a long time), and play more games, try to get your inspiration going, and perhaps start up a different project. Maybe something more fun to write as well as read.
This is just my suggestion though. Whatever you do, good luck.
Nightmare has made the point many will make in less words than it'd take others. Hiatus works just as efficiently for extended breaks as cancelled does for never coming back. Go with hiatus based on what you've said here.
*Sigh* It's always the good ones...
Hey man. Don't fret. It's nothing unusual for one to come up with a blank after creating a masterpiece so far. The thing is, you have the right mind set right now. You stop it and put it in a cryo sleep until you decide to wake it up once again, telling it they found a cure for not being finishederitis or you give the next doctor a try. Maybe they'll find a way. Or you murder it in cold blood and sell it as popsicles to little children on the street. Your choice.
Just know that i really enjoyed what you wrote and hope you will find to it again eventually.
