A Dark Knightmare: Current Status and Update · 8:56pm Mar 15th, 2015
Many people enjoy talking about themselves. I am not one of them. Consequently, I don't blog about personal matters very often, unless something really good or really bad happens and I am unable to contain myself.
So, yeah. . . on to the important stuff!
A Dark Knightmare:
If I had know what a nightmare (no pun intended) the writing of my first fanfiction would be . . . I'd have still written it, but maybe I would have held off on publishing it until I had the first five or so chapters written.
But anyway, I have some good news and some bad news about ADK: bad news first: Fiction Fan, my original pre-reader, has left the fandom. This news left me in a bit of a funk at first, but I've gotten over it. I wish her well.
Now the good news, I have recruited PaulAsaran on as not pre-reader, but full-on editor for ADK! Asaran is a longtime friend of mine on fimfiction, and as a writer, is basically everything that I'm not. Because of this, I am inclined to either hate him or admire him depending on my mood. But he has written one of my favorite crossovers of all time: Twilight's Inferno, and also written the story Trixie vs Equestria, which is structurally similar to ADK, so I'm confident that he'll be able to set me straight if I start to muck this up.
That being said, I'm going to be retroactively editing the first chapters of ADK. Not a comprehensive rewrite, we're just going to spruce things up. For example, this:
“No one can beat the mighty Zorro!” Bruce Wayne shouted, waving an imaginary sword back and forth through the air in a frenetic zigzag motion.
Would be changed to this:
“No one can beat the mighty Zorro!” Bruce Wayne shouted, waving an imaginary sword through the air.
I made a lot of minor mistakes like this in the first two chapters especially, and I would very much like to clear those up so I can put out the next chapters with a clean slate, so to speak.
So Worry not, Citizens! A Dark Nightmare is still being worked on!
You know you've made it when you are loathed and loved in the same breath.
Wait, is that right?
