I've been bottling this up for way too long. It's far past time I told you guys, and frankly, I'm a little ashamed I haven't yet. Here goes nothing...
The truth is that...
...I can't stand humanized ponies. I have no clue how anybody finds them cute, adorable, and/or any other flattering adjective. They're just weird. People toss around pictures and screenshots from EqG praising them with the highest of d'awwws, but I just don't see it. The characters just look so unnerving. From their weirdly variegated skin colors to their strangely shaped bodies and faces, I just can't bring myself to watch either of the two EqG movies. Had I watched more than ten minutes of the first one, I probably would've given myself a hernia or something (is that how that works? I'unno. The moral of the story is that it wouldn't have been pretty.).

Someone please tell me that I'm not alone in this.
But really, it's becoming a problem. A lot of amazing authors are writing EqG and/or humanized stories that really want to read, but I can't stomach the thought of—eugh—humanized ponies. Someone please, please help me get over this. Post the most adorable humanized pictures you can find. Link me to the best EqG story you've ever read. Physically slap me through the internet. I don't care what you do, just heeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeee pleeeeeeaaaaase.

I feel the same about anthro ponies. I can handle normal ponies and human ponies, but I have a hard time enjoying anthro. Idky.
Don't feel ashamed, truthfully I don't like the movies either for that very reason, and I probably will never watch them.
That being said, I do like Sunset Shimmer, and the Dazzlings, just not as humans.

Yeah, a lot of them look pretty bad in EQG colors, and Celestia and Luna are probably the worst.
The only ones I really like are Sunset and Fluttershy, and a good part of that is probably that their skin tones aren't too weird.

I'm with you on this one. I can't stand humanized ponies. My friends all got together just to force me to watch the two EQG movies and see my reaction. Boy, was it ugly. I think I screamed in frustration and agony for almost half of the darn thing.

Seriously though, Luna and Celestia look extremely odd compared to most of the others. I was skeptical of EqG at first also. It took Rainbow Rocks to really bring me around.

Humanized in general I'm not as keen on, but it can also be really adorable, too.

humanized ponies are only good if they're completely human. human skin instead of pastel oranges and yellows and whites, and my least favorite humanized ponies are unicorns that look human but still have horns.

2852609 See, I think the second batch of pictures was much cuter than the first. I still wouldn't label them as "cute" on their own, but I can totally still appreciate them. Something about the movie's art still is just so weird to me, especially when they've got the wings and horns going on on top of the skin tones.

Maybe you could check out some of Majin Syeekoh's Dazzlings stories? I recommend Ave Sonata and Psychonata, personally.
I got home, so now I'll do what was requested of me. This first set seems to me to be a sort of Vampire Hunter Sunset Shimmer and Batshy collection in which Fluttershy is into Sunny, but Sunny's clueless.

2852714 See? Lol. They're not all bad. It's the movie's weird proportions that made them seem bad. Sadly, a lot of artist copy those proportions rather than using regular human anatomy. If regular anatomy is used, they can be cute and/or sexy in the same way any other human could be.
2852644 well for me wings are okay, i've always had a thing for angel imagery and winged humans are basically what angels are in most myths. if anyone were to read through my google docs you'd see a lot of rough drafts and scrapped story ideas that have to do with winged humans, whether they're humanized ponies or not.

You're not Alone. I don't really like humanized ponies, or anthro ponies. I usually read the stories anyway, and imagine them as ponies, throwing out the humanized descriptions.
Ponies should be ponies, I don't mind eqg or anthro stuff too much I guess, but it's better when ponies.
Is it sad that I can't stand ponies in any form other than ponies?
