Hitting writers block like a brick fucking wall... · 10:35pm Feb 25th, 2015
Okay peeps, so here's the deal.
I haven't completely dropped writing, but the reason why you haven't seen anything from me, is because im not getting any ideas I like, or ideas I can do in a short enough time frame.
Main problem has been the Rarity x Applejack fic.
To make a long story short, I just cant get a good feel for their chemistry and what kind of sexual tension I can put them in that would make sense, and not need to be prolonged out to make it believable. As much as I cant kid myself, I'm at best only decent at smut, but I like to make a valid attempt at chemistry and character motivation (even if its 'i hate you so much I some how love you' kind of chemistry)
I have ideas yes, but they would all take me to write a story longer than I'm willing to write, and longer than I think anyone is willing to read, and I'd rather just do no job than a crap one. I also don't think anyone else really wants me to do ANOTHER Tavi x Vinyl love/hatesex fic either...Or potentially another TwiTrixi love/hatesex fic.
Frankly all my current ideas require longer stories to pull off, and without a co-writer, some one equally or more dedicated to the same type of story as me, I don't feel like tackling the challenge Not with art and electrical engineering also going on in my life.
Thats the basic run down for now atleast, It might change in the future, but for now, I cant say anything new is coming.

And well, if you can't get a feel for Rarity x Applejack, then maybe you should pair them up differently. If Dash wasn't already taken, I'd suggest adding AJ there, but well, y'know, polyamory isn't everyone's thing :p

Well, I've seen writers getting burnt out by trying too hard to make something work. Be sure not to overdo it.

I've always thought of Rarijack as having a similar chemistry to PinkieShy(most adorbs ship EVAR!), with one holding back their natural tendencies for the other, I.E. AJ holding off on being quite so rough in the act, while rarity tries to be a little more aggressive as a partner, so nopony is left unsatisfied. Though, iI can see this not always working out, with AJ getting tired of holding back and goes to fucking town on her prissy partners ass. Hell, i'd read dat shit. And it seems like something you of all writers would capable of.

Well...um... I know it won't help very much but... I think you are wrong. You write good, interesting smut. Your characterization is spot on and your sense of dramatics is good. And about lenght... That is not a problem. Don't burn yourself, of course but... don't let your doubts about your ability stop you.
Oh, and another thing... this community lives on octascratch.
