Just realized something · 11:32pm Jan 28th, 2015
So I was thumbing through my comments and upvotes on the new chapter, when I noticed something: Painted Mirror(hate that name) has broken 100,000 words with Chapter 31. 100,000 words, and it only took me a little over a year.
This is a pretty big milestone. There are only 600 or so human-fics that have broken that, and only 1100 adventure stories. I'm pretty proud of myself, doubly so because there seems to be a surprising number of people that really seem to like my story of an indian man beating up animals and getting attacked by damn near everyone he meets.
So thanks everyone. Thank you for getting me to this point, for pointing out when I completely screwed something up, for giving me a few ideas, and for just reading the damn thing. I'm pretty sure I would have given this up if it hadn't done as well as it did.
With all that in mind, I do intend to continue and I want to get better. So I am announcing my search for a proofreader, just someone to look at my words and tell me when they suck before I put them on the internet for future cyber-archaeologists to unearth and be mystified by. If one of the four people who might read this are interested, shoot me a line.
Congratulations!
I am sorry to say however, that I have yet to actually get to this story. It is in my read it later list, and actually graduated to my 'Read Soon' bookshelf last week, but it still has some ahead of it before I get to it.
I wish you luck in your search of a proofreader. That is something I am unable to assist you with as my grammar skills are... not the best.
I won't be a proofreader...but I'll gladly be a critic for you. I'm kind of all over the place, and I need time to put my thoughts on the table...and for some reason, I don't work very well with a schedule: I'd likely be a disappointing experience for you. Not to mention that proofers usually just look for errors, rather than look at cohesive wholes, your writing style, continuity.... That's stuff editors usually look at. It really depends on what you want looked at.
And to be honest, you seem to do fine enough on your own. An editor or a conversation partner might help otherwise, which in that case look for 'Proper Noun' or 'NaughtSaught'. They're very good.
