    I come with glad tidings!

Better late than never, eh? At this rate I should be halfway done with the story by the time Infinity Wars, Part 1 comes out!

An explanation -- and an apology

Too many times has an amateur writer embarked upon a large-scale project, determined to finish in a timely manner; too many times has that writer then left their project to languish without explanation. I'm never happy when I see such a thing happen to writers and stories I enjoy, and so I recognize the unfortunate irony that I find myself in such a position.

    I thought I didn't even qualify

I'm proud and pleased as punch to announce that An Old-Fashioned Notion is now featured on Equestria Daily.

Now, as my pre-reader just informed me, onto the next chapter! :p

How much dark energy did it take to conjure you here?

I'm unfortunately pressed for time at the moment; otherwise I would throw myself at the mercy of my readers.

An explanation -- and an apology · 6:44am Jan 28th, 2015

Too many times has an amateur writer embarked upon a large-scale project, determined to finish in a timely manner; too many times has that writer then left their project to languish without explanation. I'm never happy when I see such a thing happen to writers and stories I enjoy, and so I recognize the unfortunate irony that I find myself in such a position.

To begin, I had every intention of posting an update back in -- son of a gun! -- September/October. But in that period I hit a bit of difficulty in writing and also had to divert my attention to other tasks. Days mounted into weeks; weeks mounted into months. Pretty soon it was January and I had nothing to show for my previous promises. Even though I told myself to check in to provide an update, I continually sought reasons not to confront the delay.

Suffice it to say that I feel awful -- not so much for the hiatus in and of itself, because those things happen, but for leaving those of you who have followed AOFN without any explanation. I still love The Avengers and MLP; I did not stop because suddenly AOFN as a concept was made altogether uninteresting. My motivation for creative writing did sag dramatically across the board, however. That still does not serve as an excuse for total silence and negligence.

What is the state of things going forward? I won't make any bold predictions. (I won't make the same mistake twice!) I do, however, hope to get the ball rolling again, because Avengers and ponies together is too good a thing to drop. I also want to engage my imagination; this story is a great place to do just that.

Once more, I extend a mea culpa to whomever may keep an eye out for updates. If you were able to bear with me for this long, your patience may be rewarded in good time.

Good to hear from you again! I'm glad to know you're still willing to put up with me, even after all of this. :p

2753003 Hey stuff happens! (and stars know how time can weigh down motivation to work on something!)
