I come with glad tidings! · 2:54am Apr 24th, 2015
Better late than never, eh? At this rate I should be halfway done with the story by the time Infinity Wars, Part 1 comes out!

Too many times has an amateur writer embarked upon a large-scale project, determined to finish in a timely manner; too many times has that writer then left their project to languish without explanation. I'm never happy when I see such a thing happen to writers and stories I enjoy, and so I recognize the unfortunate irony that I find myself in such a position.
I'm proud and pleased as punch to announce that An Old-Fashioned Notion is now featured on Equestria Daily.
Now, as my pre-reader just informed me, onto the next chapter! :p
I'm unfortunately pressed for time at the moment; otherwise I would throw myself at the mercy of my readers.
I just have two quick notes to make, for those of you who may be interested.
To begin, I am always taken aback by and appreciative of the support this story has received since bursting (or crashing) onto the scene back in February. I sincerely apologize regarding the long layover between updates; I can't promise that I'll get any faster, but I will do all I can to make sure each chapter produced is worth the time taken. I'd rather not pump out a cheap product for the sake of volume. It undermines the value and fun of writing.
I think a friend of mine put it best when he said that "Zecora must be thunder-nuts hard to write for." Yes, she is. She most certainly is.
For those who may be curious -- Yes, I am hard at work on the next chapter of AOFN. (Look! It's even got its own acronym!) The delay is a product of an especially action-packed chapter. I have some papers looming around the corner for school, but I hope for it to be finished soon. If you don't see an update by this weekend, expect it by later next week.
Sorry for the wait!
Setting any scene in Canterlot Castle is tricky. A lot of the layout changes according to the demands of the show's narrative. Through the course of planning Chapter 2 ("An Urgent Matter"), I realized these inconsistencies might pose a problem. My own notes elaborate on the issue:
There's something to be said for having a starting point.
