What's Soulpillar up to? · 11:55am Jan 15th, 2015
G'day guys,
An update to you all of what I'm doing right now. There's a lot to go on, so lets dive in!
Story: 'Sun & Rose'
The bare-bones outline for the next chapter has been finished, I just need to type it all up. It'll be about 3000 words in length, as before. However, S&R is on the backburner for now. There's one other project that I want to get out the way first. Once that's done, I'll be free to focus my efforts back on it.
Story: 'Humanity's Greatest Pastime'
This has always meant to be a one-shot fic, however, it's gotten a surprising amount of attention anyway. I DO have a view of continuing this fic, waaaay down the line (like a couple of months from now), but I want to complete S&R first. In terms of how much work I've done with it, it's purely in the conceptual stages. That's fancy writing talk for 'I ain't done shit yet'.
The More Most Dangerous Game - Contest
Well, I WAS going to go back to writing S&R after HGP, but... this caught my interest a few days ago. Long story short, I'm having a go at this contest and I've written an outline to something that I hope ought to be pretty good. In a shocking move that will surprise everyone, it's one of the HiE entries. Specifically, I'm going to be doing my own take on 'My Little Dashie'. The feel-fic extraordinaire, the juggernaut, one of the first FIM fics I've ever read. The fic that brings people to tears, fits of rage and everything else in between. I'm going to try to do something new with that fic.
Stop laughing.
Anyway, I'll have something written out in the next week, hopefully before the contest is over. For those who are interested, it's going to be taking place in the Equestria Girls universe with my own spin on the subject matter. Naturally, there will be feels, there will be kawaii moments of adorable ponies. There will also be drama, thrills, brooding and implications galore. For those who are curious, it's definitely going to be more in line with S&R than HGP, especially in how serious it'll be.
But then who was canon?
For those to care to know, all my stories take place in the same universe (although at radically different times). That means certain themes and assumptions carry over between them. Most of it is going to be of the 'blink and you'll miss it' variety, though. Unless I've explicitly stated that something is a sequel, you probably don't need to read it to get the full enjoyment out of a story.
