Fimfic Authors Are In Your Bed Story Notes

Well, here you have it. As Estee so elequently puts it, it's

Admiral Biscuit's current attempt to destroy the site

It's my first attempt at running a collaborative fic. Yay.

Obviously, I can't provide story notes on the chapters I didn't write. But I can provide them on what I did.

First, a quick background about how this thing came about. After a pony-in-your-bed story got featured, Estee wrote a blog post about the theme, and several writers proposed made-up titles for pony in bed stories. Somewhere along the line, the idea of a collaborative project was born, and . . . well, there you have it. I volunteered to take the reins, because as should be obvious by now, I sometimes have poor impulse control when it comes to posting crazy stories based off blog posts.

The coverart is a crop from one of MysticAlpha's drawings.

I had to look up the Panda Express menu; I've never eaten at one. Like our protagonist, I smash my fortune cookies while they're still in the baggie; also like our protagonist, I've worked in a big box store before; fortunately, I was janitorial staff and rarely had to interact with customers.

The fortune in the cookie came from a long list of fortune cookie fortunes.

The Chinese writing on the fortune said something (really, why wouldn't it). I Google-translated "A pony is in your bed," and got 小馬是你的床

Interestingly, when you take the Chinese and translate it back to English, you get "A pony is your bed." That's appropriate enough, given Estee's Chrysalis submission.

However, Posting provided me with a more correct translation: 一個小馬會去你的床上, and I have changed it in the text.

The numbers also had signifience. 2, 5, 52, and 88 are the first of the untouchable numbers (which is just such a great name). I've always been fond of the number 88, so it's pretty awesome it's in its own special group.

It is probably possible to discern from the description which specific issue of Playboy Twilight is reading. Fortunately, I happened to have one in my desk (totally for research purposes), and flipped through it to re-familiarize myself with their format.

(oops, wrong bunny)

Seriously, research purposes. That's why I have it.

Is it weird that we feel a great amount of appreciation for the way Twilight's tail is attached to her body? It seems that that realism is usually skipped over in favor of the things that to below, so it's nice too see the tail done well, instead of a mass of hair just growing out.

That is a nice touch. It's kind of hit-or-miss from various artists. The coverart for Silk Pajamas also had accurate tail-detail, but for NSFW reasons had to be cropped in order to be used.

2707984 Oh yeah huh! You can kinda tell, but it's definitely not obvious from the cropped image.
