New year, new ideas · 7:05pm Jan 1st, 2015
This is obviously pretty late, but happy new year to you guys. Hopefully, if you got a little tipsy or party hard (kind of like me) last night, you're all safe and enjoying your start to the new year.
In case you're wondering, yes, there's been a little progress in the current chapter of Diamond's Dusk. I finally got the opening scene done, I know it's not much, but better than no progress at all, and soon I'll get started on the next part and we'll see where I go from there. As I said, this chapter shouldn't be as much of a hassle as the last one since it served mostly as some filler with some plot elements added at the end. So there went my plan to get this out before the new year.
I will tell you all this much. In the next chapter, I do plan on introducing a few new characters. Some being used in this chapter alone and some making appearances later on. I have to be honest with you guys on one thing. This is the first time I'm writing these new characters. Now I'm pretty sure my editor will help me out, but if I don't really capture the characters personalities or how they act, then I apologize in advance.
Now you're probably wondering about the "new ideas" in the title. Well, I've had a few new ideas I want to hopefully to do in the future. Once again, one of them will be another pairing I love to do, but this one will have a rather unique twist. I won't go into too much detail except that it's a much different alternative universe. This could be one of my more ambitious stories with the direction I plan to go into.
The second one is another pairing I haven't touched yet, but I have been planning on doing it for a while. I won't say what the pairing is except it involves the Wonderbolts. No other details. Besides, I need to think of more details for it anyway.
That's pretty much all the news here. I do hope over the next few days, depending that I don't get distracted with my games, that I shall get more done with the current chapter. One other thing to note is that this will most likely be a two parter chapter. One will be published and the other will then be written and put out. So once again, happy new year to you all and may the odds be ever in your favor.
Well if you're introducing new characters, try not to worry too much about how they're presented the first time around. Just write what you think they would say for the most part then in the gdoc leave a comment for the editor as to what you're trying to achieve with that character as a whole. On a side note, if it's a canon character then just try your best to write them as I said, but since you only said "new characters" that still leaves it open for OCs as aswell, whether or not you've already made them up. You weren't really clear on that but I'm going to lean towards canon characters hehe
