No, really. She does. Just you wait and see.
...Okay, so telling you guys to "wait" is probably adding insult to injury, given my track record, so I'll go ahead and get to the meat of this post.
For those of you who read my previous blog post, you all know that the long and short of it was that I was throwing in the towel for good. I had no intention of continuing my fan fiction works, had made no headway in months, and it had gotten to the point where I could go days, even weeks without thinking about even trying to write. All that was true, and I meant what I said. The only problem with that is that I had never imagined that all that could change overnight.
I won't go into details just yet, because too many times I've talked about "getting my spark back," only to have it amount to nothing. I could follow it up with "this time feels different," but that feels trite. So, instead of talking about intentions, I'm going to go ahead and instead share some results. Since that post, I have:
- Written the prologue for a Rarity x OC story set within the Ceruverse. It takes place in Manehatten, though how long after the events of Cheval Glass has not yet been determined. Who she is shipped with and many other details have yet to be determined, and this story is only in the planning stages at the moment. On the bright side, that means that she can still marry her reindeer and have freakishly cute half-breed babies. Yay! ^w^
- Written a prologue and five chapters for a Pinkie x OC story set within the Ceruverse, amounting to roughly 30k words of new content. The OC has been finalized, most of the concepts necessary are in place, and all I have to do is watch the story unfurl. Then, write it down. Simple, no?
- As of today, actually, I finished a short one-shot slice of life story about Shimmer Quill, my writing ponysona. I won't say that it's anything spectacular, and may perhaps be the only thing I've ever written that had no shipping in it, but it's for a contest that someone suggested I enter on DA. I'll probably only post that story on DA, since I have no cover art, but I'll be sure to link you guys in a future blog post so you can read it if you feel so inclined.
I'm not going to make any promises as to when you will be able to read the newest entry into the Ceruverse, because I won't be releasing a single chapter until the story is completed in its entirety. While there are a number of reasons behind my stance on this, the main reason for it is to avoid potential let downs. Constructive criticism of my work has been at an all time low, and though I'm loathe to admit it, I take "flame" and other forms of toxicity far harder than is healthy. I can't afford to take the risk of one arrogant dunderhead scuttling my desire to write, just for the sake of getting things out to you all sooner, because in the end, the delays would offset the benefit. Granted, I don't think that my rekindled yearning to write will be dying anytime soon, but it's still a risk I'm unwilling to take, and so it is that I ask for yet more patience from you guys.
Bottom line: I've been writing. All hope is not yet lost. And with that...

Good luck with these stories. I understand how Fickle the spark is. I do hope Rarities and PInkie's stories hold lots of love in them. To be honest, that was the reason I didn't like your latest story. Too sad for my taste. Good luck.

Hype Hype Hype. Great to hear you're back, take your time with your stories, as a History major in college, after writing numerous amounts of 8-12 pages papers, you kinda get writers block from time to time, just gotta take a break from time to time to get them creative juices flowing again. Anyway I truly am excited about these next couple stories, good luck and have an amazing New Year.
2693440 I honestly can't tell you if Pinkie's story is going to be much happier. I know that there are some demons both ponies are going to have to face, as is standard with my characters, but overall I think it may shine on a brighter note. I mean, it's Pinkie. There's gotta be some fun and warm fuzzies in there somewhere, right?
