That is so true...
Pretty much. Sometimes it's best not to know how the sausage gets made, or to help make it.
And that's before burnout.
There are different levels of editing too. Full reconstruction editing stinks, and weighs on the editor like an anvil. Editing for certain writers who just don't make mistakes is frustrating, because at best, I can only find a comma or two.
