Better blog title might have been "what is dead cannot die," but whatever.
It's been several years since I started Swordpony. It's a story I swore to finish, even if only because I'd never finished one before it (still haven't) and decided "it's this one or bust." But real life hit me like a ten-ton pallet of bricks after high school, and even my spare time for reading was cut back drastically.
But now it's back from hell. Call it sheer stubbornness. Not a whole lot has changed within the deeper workings of the story, but the existing seven chapters were very badly showing their age. More gerunds than you could count, mangled sentence structure, passive verbs, and about one in six sentences used the word "as." And now it's finally all edited, and to keep myself from ever doing it again I've locked all the documents. All I'll be writing and editing from now on is new chapters.
What's been added::
--------
+ A new 20-page prologue that works as a standalone short story, featuring dragons, griffons, a pony on the run, and a surprise
+ illustrations for chapters four, five, and seven
+ A few more Sworn Shield journal entries about Shetland's past
It was a rather long and painful road getting here. As always, farm life will suck the... well, it'll suck the life out of you.
In other news, today I can finally catch up an all the awesome fanfics I've been missing!!
No one loves you.
Wow!
Wonderful news !!!
Good excuse to reread the whole story
Although I think I will get to the story when the first new chapter comes.
I am eagerly waiting for new chapter as well as rewritten ones
