Sure, they're probably way worse than I'd thought at the time. I honestly find the whole thing so fucking depressing I've been avoiding most of it with a ten foot barge pole. I'd not even heard the terrorism charge before and believe me I think that's seriously fucked up. I was purely expressing my frustration at the constant demonization of video gamers in general, not just those that support the hashtag, that's been getting an entirely free pass other there. See also some of the vile behaviour of elements of the antigate crowd. If you throw around abuse and death threads you're not being intolerant of intolerance you're being a fucking arsehole and I will condemn you regardless if you're in technically in the right or not. Seriously, if they didn't want feedback they could have locked the thread or posted that discussion was out of the question.

If you were personally offended by what I said still then I am seriously sorry. I really do value the community that we've built up in the pony threads and the absolute last thing I ever wanted to do is to upset any of you. Once more I am so very, very sorry. It seems like reasoned discourse is out of the question if mods are banning people for disagreeing with their party line.
I think if someone found calling death threats out as unacceptable personally offensive, you probably should have meant to personally offend them.

I felt the new 'if you advocate for gamersgate we'll ban you' policy was perhaps overly broad given how widely and incoherent that movement was, pointed out that the movement was a clusterfuck of bad ideas and was not something I supported myself... and got banned for a month for it. Go figure.

2534053 I think we're seeing the whole "there can be no argument if there's no possibility of debate" thing starting to hit RPG.net. And, because many of the people in charge there are on one particular side (note, I didn't say which side), exposing the opposite opinion is wrong.
I'm wanting to try and get back on, if only because it's a good RPG and gaming resource, but otherwise...let them sink into ther own toxic mire.

To be honest, that post really didn't come across that well, and I don't think the mods were in any mood to parse out what you were trying to say. At this point, I think GG is so toxic that you can't try to argue nuances anymore.

It may have been unclear which I'll certainly cop to as it's the result of frustration of far too many all too nasty easy target attacks going unmodded due it fitting their biases I'll admit. However, I'm still convinced I didn't actually violate any rules as I wasn't advocating for the gg'ers, quite the opposite in fact, I didn't say only a few of them were terrible, and before I posted there was absolutely no suggestion that debate or feedback would bring the hammer down so I must admit I'm feeling seriously damn backstabbed. Definitely not going to be continuing my membership and regret paying towards it in the first place after modding that trigger happy
Had a go at the appeal which I fired off the morning after the ban, but not heard anything yet. Honestly even if I do get a reversal I want a bloody apology as that kind of behaviour is just not on.
