I had a bit of a mishap with a high-powered sniper rifle... · 2:18am Oct 12th, 2014
...a bolt action .50 Caliber to be more precise. I forget what exactly it was called, the ASWS or something like that, but here's what happened...
So this rifle was at a public shooting convention held earlier today that me and my old man went to, as well as plenty of other badass hardware like a PKM, CheyTac M200, etc... For $50 dollars I could shoot five rounds out of the thing and so I shot three after my friend shot the first two. This rifle, since it had little to no shock absorbance, had a lot of recoil; my friend ended up with a small cut on his lip from the damn thing. He loved the thing though, and it was my turn I took position, loaded a single round, took aim at 100 yards, and hit a one gallon jug of colored water dead-center. Holy shit that thing bucked like a fucking mule. Fortunately I had done everything right and only had a slightly sore shoulder after the first shot.
Time for number two.
So now here I am being a total retard as I try to see if it'll hurt less if I scoot away from the anti-monter rifle so when it fires I won't be at point-blank recoil. It seemed like a good idea at the time, or at least until I pulled the trigger.
Here's the aftermath.
A good ol' peck to the forehead by the rim of the scope. Yippie ki yay, bitches.
For those of you who aren't total gun-oriented red-necks like me, this is a .50 Caliber BMG.
Yeah, it's big.
Thank you for your time, and remember proper handling with rifles.
I nearly had a negligent discharge with a .38 today.
God, I was so lucky it was a revolver.

Ouch, that could have been bad. Single or double action?
2526898
Double action, but thankfully the thing has a rather heavy trigger pull to it. So I heard the hammer begin to click as it got to the halfway point and let go of the trigger as quickly as I could.
My heart was beating in that instant.
Good thing you didn't deep throat it.

I can imagine! Yeah, those double actions are always like that, something I'm rather happy about actually. Nice job on the reflexes too.
2526922
Ow...
2526980
Thank you.
2526922
Sexeh!
2526986
Ouch that looked like it hurt. At least it wasn't worse and you came out with some more knowledge on the workings of a .50 cal sniper.

Well what can I say, there's a first time for everything. Plus I was the youngest person to fire the beast.
I came here thinking you'd been a complete moron and put your eye against the scope
2527205
Nah, only a complex moron would do that
Hell I even keep my eye away from the scope on my .223.
What was that? I didn't say anything.

Heh, yeah
i cant remember what it was called, but i've shot a fairly powerful hunting rifle once.

Nice, you know what caliber?
2527343 i think it was a three digit number that started with a 3.
2527344

2527799 possibly a .308

My collection is pretty minuscule compared to yours... I got my .50 BMG, two .270 rifle cartridges, a 7.62x51mm, and a 5.56x45mm. And those chopsticks...
2528606 I inherited them from my grandfather, And what about those chopsticks
