Concerning Queen of Blades and Little Lulu · 9:34pm Sep 17th, 2014
So at this point you've probably noticed that I haven't published any chapters in many months, and I'm afraid that I don't exactly have good news concerning that. The state of things is entirely my fault, and I won't make excuses about how 'life got in the way' or stuff like that, fact is that my drive to write has simply been in slow decay for the past year or so. Before you start coming up with ideas on how to either bring me down for this, or in fact encourage me, let me just note that there's nothing you can say that I haven't already said to myself, both good and bad.
This doesn't mean that I'll never write again, in fact I enjoy writing, and I enjoy others reading my work. If you yourselves have ever enjoyed doing something, and then suddenly lost the motivation to do those things, you'll know the pain I'm in every day. I say every day for a good reason, and the perceptive of you will have noticed that despite the fact that my fics have been dead for several months now, I haven't actually placed them on Hiatus. This has caused me to, despite being unable to actually write, feel like it is something I am supposed to be doing, and as you can imagine it has not helped with getting my motivation for writing back. Once you start feeling like something you enjoy is a chore or a demanding force in your daily life, that's when you have to take a step back and fix some things.
Truthfully. I should have put my stories on hold way back when this first started, maybe that way I wouldn't have had my daily thoughts plagued with guilt for not writing. I am going to remedy this, and place both of these stories on Hiatus for an undefined period of time. I truly don't know when I'll feel like writing again, but hopefully I'll start to recover the flame I have lost by distancing myself from thinking about it, and then hope for a new spark (maybe once Season 5 starts up?)
We'll just have to see.
Until then, thank you for taking your time to read this, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for finding enjoyment in these silly horse stories of mine.

A shame to hear this, but I can understand where you are coming from. I am not going to trash talk you, I am just going to say take the time you need, but for the love of the gods don't make the same mistake I once made namely:
"Make sure to not get tired from your own story otherwise even when you feel up to it again creating a new chapter is so damn hard!"
In case you didn't get what I mean with that, which I honestly wouldn't be suprised about as I myself find it kind of weird as well, I will tell you a small story.
Once upon a time I wrote a story on fanfiction about Balto. I however got tired and uninspired like you at this moment, so I took a break finding myself in the pleasure of other fandoms and their amazing stories. In the meantime I managed to recover my will to write. Only to find out that by that point in time I didn't care anymore about the Balto fandom and thus dropped the fic afterall.
my point is; a break can both work like you want it to work or it completely screws you over like it did with me. Just so you have been warned! I would suggest trying to read stories about Kerrigan and mlp during your break of writing otherwise it might not end well.
I hope you find some use for my words and I shall hope to see more chapters of the story "Queen of Blades" one day.
Sincerely
TheShadowOfZama
I have also suffered from the decay of drive to write. I hope you find a way around it.
You should write because you enjoy it. Our enjoyment comes second. Take all the time you need. We will wait. :D
I just want to say that I've really enjoyed reading your stories and hope you recover your drive. I would suggest checking out the nanowrimo forums, nanowrimo is an organization for writers, which might help you out. They are a friendly bunch and there are a lot of MLP fanfic authors that hang around there.
Here's hoping you come back swinging.

Wait, is this Balto as in the lead dog for Gunnar Kaasen in the final leg of the 1925 Nome serum run?

Yes, that's the one the animation movie is about.
Link to the trailer of the animated movie: Balto 1995 and there are three movies in total. The sequels have nothing to do with the serum run or anything that really happened though. They're still definitely worth to check out though: "Balto 2: Wolf Quest" and "Balto 3: Wings of Change."
Here's a link to the Fanfiction.net fandom: Balto Fanfiction.net
They are good movies, but they are not exactly following the real life events.
On a side note, holy damn it's already 2018. Thank you for making me revisit my old comment, it brought back some old memories.
