The Longest Chapter in my Life [Wasted Honor is Done!] · 11:10pm Sep 7th, 2014
I've never had a personal project that went more than a year. I suppose you could count college and cadet corps, which were four, but those weren't hobbies or side projects. But now, the second story in the Timberverse is done, and it's been about two years since I put the first words of INYTF on paper. I was sitting on a bar stool, in a pub in Ireland when I did, and I've changed and grown so much since then. I could ramble on more, but that's what the author's note will be for.
On a more admin note, I'm still waiting to publish the appendices and author's note for WH. I know it should go in there before I slap a 'complete' tag on it, but honestly, I'd really like for it to get more unique views than the average one-shot self-insert clopfic gets by the time it leaves the new-stories box, given that I've put in several hundred hours over nine months on this story. Yeah, that's whiny, but it's also life. What happens on fimfiction (once the mature content filter is turned off) is setting a collection of novels and short stories next to a stack of porn magazines and letting the reader (mostly young guys) decide which one they'd rather have. It's not rocket science.
Anyways, so it's time to kick into full gear to work on the next project! Because for some reason my friends and I thought the Fallout: Equestria bandwagon didn't have enough ponies crowding the back, we decided to join up. And now that I don't have more lined up to publish until the big story comes out, time for a little detail. It's an HiFoE (which was an original idea when I started planning it a long ways back, not so much now), and meant to be on some respects, a parody of such works. But other than that, it's a collaborative with my long-time editor, Dizzy, but also with three other friends. I'll be taking the lead in the writing, but it won't all be by me. Other character perspectives will be done by other authors, in hopes part to make their views more authentic, and part to publish more volume in less time. I'm also dragging a grammar/style editor on board for this, so it should come off looking somewhat shiny. Until then, see you all next time!
