So, this won't be happening anytime soon but I want to give my first story, 'Guardian', a retrofit. There are several ways I can see that can be done. I'm also open to suggestions...
1. I can go through a single chapter at a time editing it. Pros: It would be done in a timely manner and wouldn't grate on my nerves with frustration. Cons: You, the readers, wouldn't get notifications saying it was edited. I would have to post a blog for every single edited chapter. This would be a huge spam fest.
2. Same as option one only doing it in clusters. 3 to 4 chapters at a time. Pros: Less spamming, more chapters. Cons: Time consuming and it wouldn't be released in a timely manner.
3. Since posting two of the same story is against the rules I can edit all the chapters, tear down the original story, and post the retrofitted version as a completed work. Pros: Follows the rules and more than just you, the readers, would see it and get a chance to view it. Cons: Very time consuming and you would not get it for a long time. All the stats would be wiped out and it would start fresh, meaning it could potentially get a bad rating, resulting in a loss of possible readers on my further stories. While I would be happy that the story itself is better, it would be unfortunate that many may not give any of my other stories a chance by judging the one badly rated story. Now that's doesn't mean it will be rated badly, but you never know.
4. I just thought of this and feel stupid for not realizing it but instead of tearing the whole story down i can just delete the chapters one at a time and post the edited version in its place. Pros: You, the readers, would receive notifications (I believe) and keep track of the new chapters. It can be done in a timely manner and the story statistics won't be affected severely. Cons: ... I honestly can't think of any XD This is probably the best option.
So, suggestions? Ideas? What do you think? It will be a long time for it to be started but it will happen. Also, school is seriously right around the corner and work has been hitting hard lately. Plus, family drama. 'Nuff said. Return of the Guardian will be slowed because of real life. You know the shpeel. Comment below please! Req out~
Hmmmm... I think option 4 like you said is the best choice but in the end, its your decision.
I'd go with option 4 it seems the best of all of them.

Will tearing out a chapter and replacing it with one of the same name result in a notification for you guys? I don't want to do that if no one can receive a, 'A new chapter of the Guardian updated', as it would be a waste of time.

in my opinion, i think option 4 is the best, but maybe minus the delete chapters thing? just put a little " * " or an "RF" at the start of each chapter name that you post, signifying it as a refit
(you know there's always gonna be that amount of viewers that want to keep with the old/obsolete stuff
of course, this will be a messy job, but... eh
could you finish the 3rd story then do a refit
2395050 yeah that's what I intended. I'll finish the third story while working on Nightmare's Weapon as well. Then I'll work on the retrofit while also working in a new story.

So post all the retroed chapters after the old epilogue? Is that what you're saying? A list of the old in order followed by the marked new chapters in order?
Found con for 4, lose comments. You can do what I am going to do and just replace the text with the fixed version. Or you could add the chapters to the end of the ones already made after the last one. Like, add new chapters with a rf or star label placed after the chapter that was rf'd. Like this...

You can then over lap the new chapters over the old ones cut and paste.
