It just occurred to me how inherently ridiculous it is to write characters with names like "Butterscotch" and "Fluttershy" having sex with each other, yet treating it completely seriously.

Incidentally, I should have a new story out in a day or two.

Don't question it. Its the magic of friendship, it alters our perseption of words.
Its better if you just don't question it...

To be fair, anything sounds silly when you're not used to it.
