I would like to update you that I am indeed working on the next (and final) chapter of One Moon. I am sorry to tell you, however, that I am severely tempted to be incredibly cruel in the outcome of this story. I do not wish to do this, really, but I feel like not all stories get happy endings. Post your thoughts on this, so I can get a feeling for the hopes you have.

It does not matter if it is a happy ending or a sad ending, just let it be the right ending for this story of yours.
I love happy endings but Evi is right make it the best ending for your story.
2374804 Yeah, I think that I couldn't do much with a depressing ending, really. Though that does not mean I am not going to include some spectacular magic fights, and possibly some balefire-related destruction of property/cities.

I think you wrote a great story. IF the ending is sad, then I understand. Besides, if it has a bad ending, maybe it can open up a sequel. With your story though. A dark ending is the best.

2374820 Darkness is guaranteed in an ending like this, given the pony (possibly ponies) involved. However dark, there still may be some happiness, since not all things in the dark are bad.

This is one of the fics I'm still trying to get around to reading, so I can't rally have an opinion about how you end it, but I agree that not all fics have to be happy endings. There are fics that are sad, bittersweet, the happy ending, tragic and so on.
How this fics ends is up to you alone, so go with what you feel is best for it's ending.
That's my opinion, anyway. You don't have to listen to it, I just felt I should give my two cents
