Update 2: Electric Boogaloo · 9:03am Aug 11th, 2014

Regarding my previous update,

Good News: The machine is running again!

Bad News: I've unfortunately had to wipe two of my drives and have lost a bit (Approx 4000-5000 words from Chapter 18 and a fair chunk of my Story Guide) of story data, amongst other things. Lucky, I do have most of my work stored on other devices, though these backups aren't completely up to date.

Dear Princess Celestia:

Today I learned the true meaning of not keeping up-to-date backups.

I know right before I forgot to backup Guild wars 2 to a cloud and I lost my 300 plus hours of game play when I had to wipe my drive.

2363082 My character data was saved online but I had the disk copy so when I tried to reinstall it wouldn't let me enter the activation code because it was used already the first time I installed the game. Now if I remembered to backup the game to a cloud storage I probably could have just downloaded the game back to the computer without having to enter the activation code.

Huh, that's weird... did you try logging in to the NC soft website itself and downloading a new client from there? Maybe that way it'll recognize you as having an active account. If not you should still be able to put a call into NC Support and have them authorize your account; I mean I had it on three machines at one point but never entered a key but that first time.
