Just got back from seeing it. The movie is made of win. A surprisingly tearjerker of a beginning, action and comedy and some touching moments all the way through. I know nothing of the comics this came from, but just... wow.
Also, sorry for slacking off a bit. Work's been busy as all heck and been sick, too. I've got the next chapter of 'Elements of Harmony and the Savior of Worlds' sent to my proofreader and the one after that over halfway done. And I'm gonna get back to reviews next week, too. Sorry, all. Thanks for your patience.

Well guess Marvel's gamble payed off then
I haven't seen Winter Soldier, which some are saying is the best Marvel movie, so I can say that I think GotG is as good as if not better than Avengers. Which makes sense, since the Guardians are the Avengers of space.

Winter Soldier is strictly speaking a better movie, I think, but Guardians of Galaxy is heck of a lot of fun.
I'm going to see Guardians of the Galaxy tomorrow alongside Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. So excited.

I'm a HUGE Marvel fan and I just finished reading the first volume of the Dan Abnett run of GotG, this run is what the movie is based on. It a loose adaptation but works with what made it comic great, which was the interactions of the team in intense situations.
I saw it too. It was awesome!
