Triple Slam · 12:46pm Aug 3rd, 2014
--is now out, and it's a bit of a departure, to say the least.
Just a quick comment--since writing and commenting is my real job, and since I have a giant research project that's just sitting here, I am cruelly stealing time from it when I write fanfic at all. That's why I panic at the very idea of writing another long-runner, and probably why I stalled out on Princess Trixie and Her Magic Dragon.
I really hope no one thinks this is against site rules. Triple Threat, for example, was a contest entry, and it was never meant to have a sequel. Triple Slam wasn't written until months later, with Great Expectations as a kind of bridge between the two.
I don't have an overall goal for the CheesePie fics. I write something new when I feel like it or get an idea. I don't feel that it should have to all fit together, and it only started to be some kind of story arc very recently. The very concept of having to think of it as a coherent whole ticks off so much nervous anxiety that I can't even convey what it's like.
As I said, I hope no one thinks I'm cheating or breaking site rules. They're not chapters, but a short story collection. I reserve the right to jump forward and backward and do one-off little vignettes inspired from some nice art.
Please, please don't force me into making this a "novel." I'd have to quit. No kidding.
Don't. I actually prefer it the way it is.
... what is the giant research project?
2342819 A stage history of a Shakespeare play for an edition. I haven't touched it in ages, but today I'm going to pull down the folders and re-acquaint myself with everything.
