So today I got called a pedophile.
Twice.
For watching a television show.
Associating love of a cartoon with pedophilia - classy. Next thing you know people that dress up as Transformers or have the toys/collectibles have a robot sex fetish right? It's called a straw-man argument combined with an ad homineim attack.
You can do the exact same thing to people who are fans of say, Cardcaptor Sakura (which has a large male following per se) but it's target demographic is girls. Yes, some people take their passions a bit far, but if they are not hurting anyone (which statistically they are not, most pedophiles are not anywhere near that outgoing. They wouldn't want to attract THAT kind of attention to themselves.) then leave them be.
If your love punching yourself in the balls for fun, then I don't care. If your love is cartoon horses, Powerpuff Girls (which btw ALSO has a male following, and it's written by Lauren Faust, too. Something about Faust and males watching feminine television, uno?), or Sailor Moon, then more power to ya.
This however is intentionally misrepresenting an entire demographic and lumping them together with something they are actually a polar opposite of in almost every single possible way (I wouldn't be surprised if declaring yourself a brony will get you attacked at some point becuase of this vitriolic crap). Sadly it's easier for people to attack and hate than understand.
