I wish that Lauren Faust would still be in charge of the MLP:FIM story...
To be honest, I didn't like season 3 that much and HATED season 4...
Especially the season 4 finale, which was nothing else than ridiculous. I mean, Tirek punched Twilight through a mountain and she survived!
PS: I think that I will make my story non-canon to season 4, cause I don't want to have super-ponies that can destroy entire cities in my stories...
I don't really care for what she planned.
You can break off the continuity of your story with the continuity of the show where you like, just please don't write anything that shows open contempt for seasons three or four into What I Am. Editorializing your opinion of the show into the story itself would ruin things for me real fast.

Uh just to let you know she most likely survived being punched through a mountain because alicorns tend to be really resilient and a lot of blunt force trauma still won't be enough to take them down. Not only that but since the elements turned her into an alicorn she basically has the magic of the elements coursing through her. Lets just say that mountains might not be enough to stop the elements of harmony and its rainbow power. But hey that's just what I say.

This is just extreme use of cartoon physics; I mean remember when Rainbow Dash broke her wing? She can punch through solid trees without injury according to the show, but hitting the ground breaks her wing?
2238140 For the RD thing most people would just say MAGIC and go along with that but in all honesty you got me there on the trees. However I don't know what moment your talking about with Celestia. What single weak blow took her out again?

I mean, Celestia fought against many foes in her life-time, like Sombra and Discord; but a single blow by Chrysalis takes her out?
2238982 My little pony has made it very clear on several occasions that love as well as friendship is a very strong form of magic. Chrysalis ,being a changeling and all, harnesses love to give herself strength on top of her innate strength of being the queen. As stated in the episode Shining armors' love for cadence was so strong it gave Chrysalis the power to surpass Celestia. And may I also mention that Chrysalis must be pretty old as well and has probably fought her fair share of powerful foes. She must have already dipped her horn into battle. One last thing Celestia may have fought strong beings in the olden days of Equestria, but lately the golden age of peace in the country may have caused her to let go a bit when in Chrysalis' case she must be fighting a lot to keep her subjects well fed. It isn't so far fetched to think that with enough love she could beat ol sunbut.
I'm a little late to the party, but I am definitely with you on this. Season 3 was a bit hit or miss for me, and season 4 has degraded into a pile of spectacle with none of the emotional meat that made the show great in the first place so I have skipped a bunch of the episodes and do not really intend to watch season 5 because I expect it to be more of the same shit that I ignore everywhere else on TV just like that abomination of a season finale.
I found the Season 3-4 changes going from infuriating (Discord's reformation, Twilicorn) to disappointing (various small slips in episodes, leading to Twilight's Kingdom, or at least parts of it could've been better) leaving me to love the characters in their basic personalities, adore the fandom
, but remain cautious and a bit angry and disappointed by the show as of now(sigh). Not that I don't like some of what I have seen in those seasons (I adored almost every second of Pinkie's Pride) but I just don't really know what to think or feel about it. As to Lauren's ideas I found them interesting, I couldn't read them clearly though, I find the idea of Twilight succeeding Celestia after her death unpleasant, which I find amazing due to my dislike of her manipulation of Twilight and her friends. Guess I overestimated my negative feelings towards the more unsavory sides of the characters. I think that's all my feelings on it and related as best as I can tell.
